Washington

Well, I thought I would give a update on our family. We made it to Washington safely! We left Christmas night, and it was a late night, especially for the kids. We got to Grandpa's house around 11:00 pm, which is 12:00 pm our time. They were good sports though. We had a really good Christmas. It was nice to stay home this year for Christmas and to have time as a family. The girls favortite present was their scooters! They rode them around the house all day, until it was time to go.

We are having a good visit with my dad and his family. Last night we went to see zoo lights at the Point Definance Zoo. It was a lot of fun, and my Grandma and Grandpa came along. Today we took the kids to Chuck E. Cheeses. They loved it! Tomorrow we are going to go to the children's musuem in Seattle. It should be fun! I will post some pictures of our trip when we get home. I hope everyone had a good Christmas!!

Our Weekend

On Friday we went to the Albuquerque Temple, where they have this navitiy set up. The girls liked seeing one so big!
This is the result of having play time with daddy! They came out of their room, with their tights on their heads. I am glad that they have so much fun playing with their daddy and that he has so much fun playing with them!!

Saturday morning, after I put Rylan down for his nap, I went to find the girls and this is where I found them. Both in their bed, reading books! I was pretty surprised. They were being SO quite, and when the 2 of them are together, it usually isen't very quite, unless they are doing something naughty. It was a nice surprise!

Hannah giving Rylan some loves!

Some pictures of Rylan. He got his 3rd haircut and is only 8 1/2 months! His hair grows like crazy!

Scrapbooking

These are a couple pages I have been working on for my sister. It will be a late Christmas present, since it won't be there on time. Anyways, just thought I would share.

Daddy's Birthday

Yesterday was Kyle's birthday! We had a fun birthday party last night with our family. He has Friday off, so we are going to go out then and do some more celebrating!! Anyways, happy birthday sweetie!! Hope you had a good day.

Bethany and daddy, with the present she picked out for him.

Hannah and daddy with the present she picked out for him. I was the one wanting a little muffin pan, (mostly for the girls) so I picked that out, but Hannah picked out what kind of muffin she wanted to make with daddy!
Kyle with his manly birthday cake and funky candles!! I ran out of vanilla frosting, and so the pink is all we had on hand. Although when I asked the girls what kind of cake they wanted to make daddy, they both said a pink one. So it made them happy! As for the candles, we didn't have any birthday candles so I had to improvise. We got a good laugh out of it anyways!!

Hannah who was in charge of decorations!

Bethany was in charge of games. Here's a video of them playing. Lots of fun!!

Silly Boy!

Rylan was being so silly at dinner last night. He would put his piece of bread halfway out of his mouth and let go of it. The girls just cracked up at him, so he continued to do it over and over. It is fun watching him figure things out, and to see more of his personality come out!

Merry Christmas!

This is a copy of our Christmas card we sent out this year. I am learning to do digital scrapbooking, which is REALLY cool! This is one of my first projects, and I still have a lot to learn. It is so much easier and faster than doing paper scrapbooking, plus you can use the same papers and embleshments over and over!! There's my little speal on digital scrapbooking. Anyways, have a Merry Christmas!!

Along with the Christmas theme, yesterday at the grocery store a lady came up to me and told my girls that she likes to give little girls that are good for their mommy a special Christmas present. And then she gave each of my kids a dollar bill. The girls thought that was the coolest thing and bought some animal crackers with it. The funny thing, is Bethany was being such a stinker that day. She did NOT want to go to the store, and whined about it the whole way there and halfway through the store. Kind of funny!

Will the sickness ever end part 2

Not too many exciting things have been happening in our home, due to the sickness. We have been homeward bound for the last 1 1/2 weeks. Happy to report, that everyone is doing better. We all seem to have colds now, which I don't know if it is the tailend of croup, or something else we caught. So runny noses and coughs, but much better than last week, when we had croup and fevers!

This is a video of Hannah reading the book, twinkle little star to herself, or more of singing the book to herself!

Will the sickness ever end??

Well Bethany has been sick since Saturday. It started with fever that lasted until yesterday, and then she started complaining that her throat hurt and would not eat or drink anything. Even medicine, which she really needed! I thought it was strep throat, but instead is croup. She has not been very croupy, usually just when she wakes up, but VERY cranky! We put her in the bathroom about 5 times a day with the shower on and the steam really helps her. Today, the fever is gone, which is improvement. But she is still just as cranky as ever and is not sleeping as much. She wants help with everything, from walking to eating, and I think she plays on it a little too much. Maybe I am wrong and she is really that miserble, but who knows. She also has been up a couple times during the night, which we are not used too. anymore. Hannah woke up this morning a little croupy and coughing, and Rylan has a running nose. So it looks like it will pass though the other two also, but hopefully it will just be colds.

Bethany smiling!! I think that is the 1st smile we have seen since Saturday. Hopefully she get better soon!
Rylan has decided that he does not have time to get his diaper changed or clothes changed. If he has to lay down then it's not worth it. He fights it the whole time and tries to roll over and get up. Last night I gave in and let him get up and play for a minute between the diaper change and pajamas. Note the big smile, he was so happy that he "won"!
Rylan eating a saltine cracker. His favorite this week!

Hannah smiling with a mouth full of crackers. On top of the sickness in the house we are working on getting a certain two year old to go poop on the potty. She has been going pee for 5-6 months and mastered that so quickly. But for some reason she is against going poop on the potty. We are having her have "naked" time to try to help her. Thinking that she wouldn't want to poop on the floor. But wrong were we, the other day she ended up pooping and we caught her a little too late. It plopped on the floor, which isen't that big of a deal, except here comes little Rylan crawling as fast as he can to get to it. We got him in time, but can you just imagine! The joy of having kids! Any ideas on how to get her to poop on the potty are welcomed!!! I know one of these days, hopefully the near future, we will be laughing about the whole thing.

Sunday and Tree Decorating

On Sunday, Bethany got to give her 1st talk in primary. At first she was a little upset and didn't want to do it. So we gave her a choice of who she wanted to help her give it. She choose her teacher, Sister Mora. She loves her!!! But we made her choose between me or daddy. She choose daddy, which was nice for me to not have to worry about it. The microphone in the primary room is broken, and she is so soft spoken anyways, so it was hard to hear her, but she did a great job! We are so proud of her!! After church I was asking Bethany if she had fun having daddy help her, she said, well I like it when you help me better. It was so funny!! Good thing Kyle dosen't get his feelings hurt easily!!!
We finally got our tree up. It has been sitting out for about a week. We were trying to decide if we wanted to set up our fake one or get a real one. I love having a real tree. We always had one growing up, and I love how it makes your whole house smell! But we decided to do the fake tree this year, because Christmas night we fly to Seattle to spend some time with my dad and his family, and decided we didn't want to have to worry about taking it down on Christmas day. Plus this way it is less messy which is fine by me!

The girls had so much fun hanging up the ornaments. When they were done, of course just the bottom half of the tree was decorated, so we had to move some around. But they weren't ready to be done, when all the ornaments were gone.

Gingerbread Houses!

We had fun decorating our gingerbread houses. We made 1 big house and 2 little houses, so the girls each got their own to decorate. So I got to decorate the big one how I wanted, it was fun. It reminded me of when I was young and we would go to my Grandma Davis house and decorate our gingerbread houses. Bethany really enjoyed being able to "glue" her own candy on with frosting. And Hannah really just wanted to eat all the candy. She would say, oops I got some on this, can I eat it. It was pretty funny.

I'm it

I've been tagged by my friend Michelle! So, here are 7 random things about me...

1.) Me and my husband were set up on a blind date, and it worked!! My brother in law Adam went to high school and then College with Kyle. I was visiting my sister for the weekend and we went out on a double date. The rest is history!

2.) I had a cat with only 3 legs growing up. Good old Chubby, who is still alive, but now lives with my mom. I'm not really into cats anymore, my kids are enough work for me! We have had Chubby since she was born. She lived in our garage, and one day decided to run out of the garage while my mom was pulling in. We felt a bump and I remember freaking out! We took her to the vet and she ended up having a broken back leg, and had to have it ampuated. My parents weren't about to pay that much money for a cat, so I ended up paying for it with my money. I'm glad she is living a long life!!
3.) David B. Haight was in our first ward after being married. We lived up in the Avenues in Salt Lake City. Whenever he attended our sacrament meeting, he would get up and talk for a few minutes at the end. I'll never forget when it was our turn to speak in sacrament, and having Elder Haight get up after us and comment on our remarks. It was very cool! His wife was such a cute little lady.
4.) My 2 K-9 teeth grew in on the roof of my mouth. When I was 12 I had to have a surgery where they uncovered the teeth, and usually they can pull them down to the right place with braces. Well, mine were upside down and backwards so they had to pull them.

5.) Since my pregnancy with Bethany I have not been able to eat banana's. Sometimes they will look good, so I will take a bite thinking maybe my taste has changed. But no, I always have to spit it out. Maybe one of these days.

6.) We have moved 6 times in the last 3 years. We moved into a house in Utah, then shortly after we got our current job in Albuquerque, so moved to New Mexico. We lived there for a year, then we went back to Utah for Kyle to do his Master degree (which was part of his job), we moved back into our house there, sold it, then moved into University housing. When he was finished with school, we moved back to Albuquerque, we were in an apartment while our house was finished being built, then we moved into our current house. Whew, too much moving for me!! We will see what happens next:)
7.) I hate bugs, and am such a chicken when it comes to taking care of them when they are inside our house. We have a lot of crickets around here, yuck. I usually put a cup over it until Kyle gets home and he takes care of it. A funny thing is Bethany will get some tissue and take care of bugs or step on them herself. One day I had put a cup over a bug, and she brought the cup back to me, saying she had taken care of it. Pretty sad when your 4 year old is braver than you:)

Okay, so there you go. There are seven random things... not too exciting, oh well. Anyway, now I get to tag seven people and the rules.
The 7 people I tag are:

The rules are: post who tagged you and link.
Post 7 random things about yourself.
Pick 7 people to tag and links, plus whoever you tag, you have to write them a comment telling them they've been tagged.
Post the rules. If you've been tagged... have fun!

Pictures of Kids

I took some pictures of the kids last week, down by the river, before it got so cold. I thought they turned out pretty cute.

Grandma's Visit

We did lots of fun stuff this past week with Grandma in town. Since we won't be going to Utah for Christmas we did a "Christmas morning" with her. The kids loved all their fun presents they got!!

Hannah putting on chapstick she got. She did a pretty good job right:)

We went and saw the river of lights at the gardens. The girls were complaining that it was cold, and wanted to go home. Needless to say, all 3 of the kids fell asleep on the way home. And they stayed asleep when we got home, yea!! We had fun though.

We went to Grandma's hotel for breakfast one morning. The kids are wearing the pj's that she made for them for Christmas. Very cute!! They had a good breakfast too, you could make your own waffles!

Bethany wanted me to take a picture of her vacumning. She has not stopped vacumning since she got it. First thing in the morning she is asking to vacumn, she at least has to wait until everyone is awake! She loves it. It is suppose to really pick up stuff, it probably does a little, but I wished it picked up more. Then we would have a really clean house!!

Family picture. You can tell that the kids are really into it:)
We had a good visit with Grandma . We are glad that they came down to see us. We love having visitors. I know the girls had so much fun!! I think they are worn out though, they are super grumpy today!! It may be naptime soon for all of us!!!!
