Bryleigh celebrated her birthday at school in April since her's it at the very end of the school year. Her teacher Mrs. Logan is awesome and we love her so much!
My mom got the game pie face and the kids had fun playing it. It's so funny to see the faces they make when they are playing!

We went to RC Willy's after his lunch date and we found a couch for our family room in the basement. He approved!
We tried out a new doughnut shop by our house. They had pretty good doughnuts. It only stayed in business for maybe a year, which was sad.

I came home from work on my lunch break and this is what our culdesac looked like! I was a little freaked out. The neighbor had a weird smell in her house and thought there might be an electrical fire. Luckily everything was ok.

I started working at the kid's school, Adam's elementary in February as a functional skills preschool aide. I had been wanting and looking for something to do with all my time since Bryleigh started 1st grade. I just felt like I was being lazy and really not doing much with my time other than grocery shopping and cleaning the house. I found that I was not very happy and wanted to do something more with my time. I had applied for a couple different jobs at the elementary school and I didn't get them.
I was very discouraged and wondered why I couldn't even get a job as a recess duty at the school. I then decided to sign up with the school district as a substitute teacher. I had to attend a training and then I was good to go. I was super nervous when I started subbing, but enjoyed having somewhere to go and something to do. I was able to pick what days I wanted to work. I started by going around the district to lots of different schools. I soon found out the ones I wanted to stay away from and the ones that I had good experiences at. I soon was able to pick up some jobs at Adam's elementary, where I really wanted to work. I did a few jobs there and soon after I got a call from the principal at Adams.
She was calling to tell me about this position they had open in the functional skills preschool. She gave me some time to think about the job and I got back to her shortly. I debated about it for a while, because I didn't necessarily want to work with preschool-age children and I didn't really want to work in functional skills. It takes a lot of patience and work. However, I felt like if I wanted an "in" with the school that I should probably take the position and then see what the next year brought. So I took the position and overall had a really good experience.
I loved the ladies I worked with, we had a lot of fun. It was good for me to have some adult interaction during my days. Some days were super great with the kids and others were super hard. The hardest thing for me with the job was I worked most of the hours that the kids were at school. I had an hour lunch break in the middle of the day, but that was it. So it ended up where I didn't have any time to grocery shop or clean. So those things started lacking in our family and that made it hard. I was glad that I took the job and that I had the experiences that I had for the rest of the school year.
