April p12

The last of our April pictures.  I'm catching up slowly.  But hopefully I will be able to really catch up soon, since school is out now.  I have more hours in my day to do other things than school my kids. 

So most of these pictures are of my Grandparents.  They were so sweet and drove down to Utah for Hannah's baptism.  They were in town for about 2 weeks and we got to see them quite a bit and it was nice to have this time with them.

They had quite a adventure getting here.  They had a motor home that they were driving down towing their car behind it.  It was super windy and ended up blowing them off the road and landing their motor home on it's side.  The motor home and their car both ended up being totaled, but they ended up walking away with a few scratches.  My grandma's sister that lives in Roy was able to go pick them up from somewhere in Idaho and bring them to Utah. What a miracle it was that they did not get hurt from that!

Then the same night that Rylan cut his head open and got his stitches, my grandma ended up falling walking up some stairs and hit her head really hard.  So she had to take a trip to the ER after all.  She again ended up being ok, and just had a huge goose egg on her head for a couple weeks.  

It was kind of a rough trip for them, but we enjoyed this special time that my kids got to spend with their great grandparents!  They brought them books one day.  And another they brought cookies and ice cream for dessert.  The kids loved it!  Because their car was totaled they ended up flying home and buying a new car when they got home.

My grandma was so sweet and brought me some flowers one of the days.  I made my day!

Bryleigh playing so well by herself.  It is fun watching her grow up and actually play with things and make sense of things and not just stick things in her mouth.

She was lining them all up and putting them on and off of the duck pond.  Her imagination is sure going!!

Dallen's buzz party

Dallen decided on a buzz birthday party.  He was so excited to have it finally be his birthday.  He knew his came after Rylan's and everyday he would ask if it was his birthday yet.  We had his birthday party on April 27th, which was super early.  But that was the only time we could fit it in with our schedule and everyone else's schedule.  He didn't care though.  He colored pictures to hang for our decorations.

His buzz cake.  I thought it turned out cute, even if the red looks more like a pink. Dallen was happy with it!

Dallen's treat table.  He was so funny with his party.  He knew exactly what he wanted and was very specific. I wasn't planning on doing the marshmallow pops. But Dallen already had it planned out that he wanted yellow pops and after we played the game where we passed the toy and played music, that they would get to eat their marshmallow pop. 

I finally convinced his to do green pops, because we had that color.  I told him that buzz is green right?  And he told me that he isn't that color green.  But he finally came around, and was ok with it.

They got to try to shoot zurg and other figures down.

We also played pass the asteroid to the song that is at the end of toy story 3, which I found and is called We Belong Together. Then you earned the marshmallow pop when you were out. (This was all Dallen's idea). 

We made rockets out of balloons and did a balloon toss.

My cute birthday boy with his party bag.  I had a wonderful idea of putting the party bags inside the pinata already done up.  I think they got packed in too tight, because they got kind of banged up.  They didn't seem to mind though.

Then it was cake time.  He was so cute when we sang to him.  He had the biggest grin on his face.  You could see pure joy on his face!

He finally got a scooter of his own!  No more fighting over the dora scooter with Bryleigh. He was so excited! He had a great birthday party and was then so excited to get to spend his real birthday at Disneyland! I loved that he knew what he wanted and was able to communicate it to me.  He is too cute sometimes!!

We had a fun field trip to the zoo with our friends. They have an annual pass that can get us in for free too.

They had a bunch of lego exhibits, which were so fun! All these monkey's are made out of legos.

This polar bear is also made out of legos, and the stand it is on.  It was pretty cool!

A close up of the polar bear.  The zoo also has a carousel that the kids got to ride a few times.  We had a good time!  I still miss our zoo in Albuquerque though.  

Rylan and his stitches

So Rylan wanted to make our baptism weekend even more eventful then it was.  We had a little get together that Friday night with my sister's family, my mom. grandparents and my dad and Carrie.  We had a houseful.  The kids were outside playing.  Rylan and Gideon were on the trampoline playing sometime of tag game.  Rylan got tagged a little hard and got pushed off the trampoline backwards onto a plastic car.  Our trampoline does have a net around it, but they left the little door open, and that is what he fell out, of course! He came running in crying and was trying to get to me.  Ky was down by the door and was trying to get Rylan to stop and talk to him, but he wanted me.  So he ran around Ky and straight smack into the corner of  the wall.  Ky started yelling for me to come there and Rylan was laying on the floor on his back just screaming.  His hair was all matted down with blood on his forehead, so at first it looked like his forehead had gotten smashed in.  Then after we started wiping it up noticed that that wasn't the case, but he had a huge gash on his forehead.

So needless to say, he had to go get some stitches.  Our dr. offices has a after hours clinic that the dr.'s take turn being on call.  So it was awesome that he got to see our actual dr.  He got 5 stitches put in. He did really well with it.  I think his body was in so much shock of it all that he really wasn't hurting that bad.  The thing that was bothering him the most was his back, from the fall from the trampoline.  He didn't even flinch when he got the shot to numb him up or when he got the stitches put in.  My sister let him take her ipad with him, so he just sat there and watched wreck it ralph during the whole thing.  He was quite the trooper!

This was his new look for 10 days.  Usually they only keep them in a week, but the dr. wanted to keep it in a little longer just to be sure it healed up right.  With the location of the cut, there is a lot of 

pressure there and it can sometimes pull apart. He always wanted a bandaid on it.  I think he was worried the stitches were going to come out if it wasn't on.  He also did not like it being touched at all and was a little over paranoid about it all.  Also, for about a month afterwards anytime his head got hurt he would kind of freak out more than normal.  I think he was a little traumatized from the whole situation.

I love all his little freckles that are popping out!  He though the stitches were so cool because pirates have stitches.  The day after he got the stitches he was so excited to wear his jack skeleton shirt. And then was a little concerned why he had stitches on his mouth. 

The stitches are gone!  He did really well getting them out.  I had all the kids with me.  I was going to leave the girls and Dallen out in the waiting room, but we ended up having to go to another part of the building and they took us straight into the room.  So we were all there. As soon as they started working on Rylan, Hannah disappears behind the curtain.  She did not want to see any of it!  His cut healed up great!  I was impressed! It helped that he hit a straight wall and didn't have any jagged pieces to put back together. 

We are all so glad to be done with this adventure.  Until the next accident right!!

train musuem

My dad came to visit for Hannah's baptism and stuck around for a few days.  We loved having him here!  We went to the train museum in Ogden one of the days.  We had a good time!

They have a huge track with at least 4 model trains.  The kids had fun chasing the trains all over. I think it was one of their favorite parts.

This was their other favorite area.  They had a bunch of old train equipment and an old train in a room that they could play with.  We were in there for a long time!
