hannah spelling bee

Hannah qualified for her school spelling bee. She took first place in her class spelling bee. The top 3 from each class got to participate in the school spelling bee. She did lots of studying, but was still a little nervous! She got our family lucky number 7! 

After lots of rounds, Hannah took 2nd place in her school spelling bee. She was hoping for 2nd place because she wanted to do good, but she didn't really want to go onto the district spelling bee. Well, she got what she wanted, 2nd place! The funny part that she didn't realize was the top 3 finalist all advance to the district spelling bee. So she got to still go to district after all! 

It was fun to watch Hannah do so well. She really is a great speller! We are so proud of her!

By taking 2nd place she got a $25 gift card to barnes and noble. She was excited to get to go get some new books! So fun! 

dallen finally lost a tooth!

Dallen finally, finally lost his first tooth! He has been waiting and waiting for this day to come! It was hard for him to see all his friends loose tooth in kindergarten, and then in first grade. It was super hard for him! So finally in 2nd grade and 7 1/2 he finally lost his first tooth. 

He had been wiggling and wiggling it for weeks. It finally got to the point where it was super loose, and I was worried about him going to school with how loose it was. I didn't want him to have the tooth come out and loose it at school. He also wanted to be the one to pull it out. So that morning before school he worked hard and got it out! Super exciting day for him!

All ready for school, and to show off his new hole in his teeth to his friends!

He was so excited for the tooth fairy to visit him that night. He got $5, a stuffed animal, a certificate and letter from the tooth fairy. He was so happy!

He got to have a special treat at Da's house too!

I'm so glad that he finally got to this new milestone! He waited a long time!

rylan's basketball

Rylan had fun playing basketball this year. Ky was the assistant coach for his team, and Ky's coworker and friend was the head coach. He had fun coaching Rylan's team. It was Rylan's first time playing on a basketball team. He learned so much and became a better player!

When they play jr. jazz they get two free tickets to the jazz game. Since Ky is a bigger jazz fan, he went with Rylan. They had a good time!

My mom and Bethany on their gym followed by lunch date! Cafe Rio in for the win.

Bethany's softball team had a team Christmas party. She loves her team and the girls she gets to play with! I'm glad she is enjoying softball so much!

Hannah has been playing basketball. She loves it! Her team did really well and took 2nd place in their league. She is a feisty little one who is a great defender! She is also a good point guard and taking the ball down. 

We celebrated Ky's birthday! With lots of candles! He almost set off the fire alarms with all that smoke from the candles!

The kids always look forward to their chocolate countdowns. It reminds me of my Grandma Davis, she always had one in her house for the grandkids to do. 

And there goes another year! I can't believe how fast time goes! 

2016 has been good to us!

christmas break adventures

We had a fun week playing the week between Christmas and New Year. Ky took most of the week off which is always nice! 

We started our week with the Train museum in Ogden. We wanted to go one more time before our passes expired.

For one of Rylan's cub scout requirements he needed to visit a pet shelter. So we went to the Davis County humane society. The kids had fun looking at the different pets. We saw the dogs and the cats. The cat room, you got to go into the room and actually pet and play with the cats. Some were super friendly and other's were not. Bethany wanted to take this orange tabby home, she climbed up into Bethany's lap when she bent down to pet her.

The kids had passes to surf n swim from their swimming lessons over the summer. So we took them swimming. They love it!

We also had lots of movie nights. The kids favorite is watching studio c together! So fun to have some clean family comedy!

It was so nice to have some time off from school, and to be able to just hang out with the family! 

sleigh ride and sledding

Ky has some awesome coworkers! One of his coworkers lives up in Morgan and they have draft horses and a sleigh, and they invited our family up for a sleigh ride. It was freezing cold, but so fun!

So pretty!

Even with our winter clothes, boots and blankets, it was still a little chilly!

We decided to stop and do some sledding on our way home, since we already had all of our gear on. 

Always so fun!

Crash and burn!

It was a great day! We were anxious to get home and warmed up afterwards!
