Room update

A updated picture of Rylan's room. We finally got the border up in it. A video of Rylan "talking" on the phone. He loves phones!

Bethany ballet class

On Saturday, my Grandma and Grandpa wanted to go watch Bethany at her ballet class. Bethany LOVED having them watch her. She is doing really well in her class. Her teacher is surprised at how wells she can do some of the things. I am glad that she is enjoying it!

Bethany doing the "bluebird". She was a little distracted by me filming her. This is one of her favorite things!

Rylan's Birthday

Here are some more pictures from Rylan's birthday. I think he had a good day. We played outside, which is one of his favorite things! His Great Grandma and Grandpa were in town visiting, so we had a little party for him that evening. Of course his favorite part of that was his cupcake!

He sure wanted to touch that candle!!

He dug right in, it didn't take him long!

He got tired of his bib and took it off. Oh well, it was almost bedtime right!

He's 1!!!!!

Our little boy is 1, or almost!! He was born at 11:37 pm, so technically he isen't one until tonight. It is always fun to reflect on what was going on last year at this time. I had a long and painful 26 hour labor with our little man. It started at 9:00 pm on the 27th, and he finally decided to come out and meet us the following night. I have different labors where my contractions are all over the place. For example, when we got to the hospital I was dilated to an 8, but was still having contractions a good 15 minutes apart. So all day today, last year, we didn't know if it was the "real" thing or not. I remember Ky concerned about our lawn and really wanted to cut the grass. So he went out and bought a lawn mower and mowed the lawn. Such priorities:) And those who know him well, know that this totally fits him! So funny. I remember after laboring and being up all night, my contractions started to slow down in the morning, so I got on my treadmill and walked hard for about 30 minutes, then could hardly move because it hurt so much. But I did not want my contractions to stop, I was ready for him to come! I also got really nausious and sick to my stomach, so I didn't eat much. But a big juicy hamburger sounded good, so we got me one before going to the hospital. On our way to drop the girls off at our friends on the way to the hospital we stopped at the park and let the girls play and I walked around some more. It is fun to think back and remember what we did. I remember my little boy finally arriving and being able to hold him for the first time!! What a awesome experience that is!! It is just so amazing!! I have really enjoyed this last year, Rylan has been such a good little baby, and now he is growing into such a great little boy!! Here are some pictures of Rylan from the last year!! Happy Birthday Rylan! We love you so much!!
This morning opening his presents. I will post more pictures from his big day later!

10 1/2 months old.
9 1/2 months old.

8 1/2 months old.

7 months old.

6 months.

4 months.

2 months.

The day he was born. I couldn't decide on just one.

His big sisters holding him for the 1st time. Hannah just kept staring at him, trying to figure it out. It was so cute. It is fun to see how much they have changed also in the last year.
This is a picture of him the next day after he had his emergency surgery. Ky and I were talking last night about how crazy that whole day was and how worried and stressed out we were. But now it seems like so long ago, and almost like it didn't even happen. We heard from some friends that had a baby boy a few monthes after us and the same hospital, that when they take the boys to get circumsized now, they tell them, "You know there usually isen't any problems, but a little bit ago we did have an accident." Well that was us! Kind of weird that we were "the accident", and that it's still being mentioned. It kind of makes me mad that it happened to us, but like my sister reminded me, at least they were able to fix it and fix it right. You can't even tell anything happened. And it wasn't a life or death situation, so I need to just be more grateful!! Crazy stuff!!

Rylan walking

Rylan has been working on his walking skills. He usually still prefers crawling over walking. I don't blame him, he has already mastered crawling and it easier at th moment. He can get where he wants faster that way. But if he WANTS to walk he can, and is getting pretty good at it. He is following Bethany in her walking progress, she started walking at 12 1/2 monthes, where Hannah was 10 monthes. It's funny how they can all be so different.

Easter

I am finally getting around to updating our blog. We had a good Easter on Sunday. Rylan was having a hard morning as you can see below. He was sick all weekend, with a fever...I think he may be related to teething..but who knows. Since Ky had meetings Sunday morning, the girls had to get ready for church before they got to find their easter baskets and easter eggs that the easter bunny had hidden. They were good and got ready, but got a little impatient when they were ready and daddy wasn't home yet. But they survived!! This was the best picture I got of the kids. Rylan was having nothing to do with it. We had fun taking pictures while we waited for daddy...them with their silly face:)

The girls finding the easter eggs the easter bunny hid for them. I decided I didn't want to mess with dye this year, so they got to decorate their eggs with stickers. They are young enough that they didn't really know the difference. I will have to enjoy it while it lasts!

They also had to find their Easter baskets that were hidden. Of course they found Rylan's for him 1st, since it wasn't hidden very hard. Bethany had to search pretty hard...but she found it!

Rylan with his new tractor for the sandbox. He loves the sandbox!!

After church we did another easter egg hunt for the kids...with candy eggs. Their favorite. We put a bunch on the grass for Rylan to get...and the rest were for the girls. Little did I know that Bethany was much more obessed with getting as many eggs as she could, and Hannah was happy with her little pink egg! This was her first egg...and she was SO EXCITED that it was pink, her favorite color! Then she was off to find a purple egg, her next favorite color. So funny. We had to tell Bethany to slow down and let Hannah get some of the eggs too. They sure had fun!

Rylan with his easter eggs. He did really good at picking the eggs up and putting them in his basket. I didn't know if he would really know what to do. He was especially happy when one of the eggs broke open and he got a jellybean before we noticed it! They were just little ones, so I let it be.

And that was our easter....

Princess by day, Pirate by night!!

On Friday, Bethany and Hannah got ot go to 2 birthday parties!! In the morning they got to dress up as princess's and go to a princess party. They had aso much fun!! Not very often do they get to do 2 parties in one day. They were a bunch of party animals!!

Bethany was a purple sleeping beauty, since we don't have a pink dress. And Hannah was snow white.
They loved getting their faces painted!! They chose butterflies and rainbows!

Bethany being the little girl that she is!!
Some pictures that my friend Michelle took, I thought they were pretty cute!

In the evening the girls got to go to a pirate party!! They again had a lot of fun! They came home with pirate "dress up" stuff, which they were so excited that they can now be a pirate whenever they want!!

Bethany with her pirate face. Can you believe this is the same little girl in the princess dress:) She wanted to wear her princess crown to the pirate party. She liked how her hair looked with her crown and she didn't want it to get messed up. When I told her no, she said "I can just be a sleepy beauty pirate"...I interesting mixture...that's for sure.

Hannah being silly, and ready for bed!

And of course we wouldn't want to leave Rylan out. After his sister's where in bed he had a fun time trying on their crowns. I was in the process of getting him in his pj's...but hadn't quite got them on yet. He HATES to get dressed...must be a boy thing.
As you can see from his grin, he thought he was pretty cool!! Probably pretty sneaky too, since his sister never grabbed it from him:)
And pirate Rylan. He wouldn't keep the eye patch on...

Another shot of pirate Rylan, standing all by himself. He is getting so close to walking, he will take 4-5 steps, then fall down. I can't believe he is almost 1, where did the time go?? And really, I'm not overly anxious for him to be full blown walking, because I know he will really never stop!! Although it is fun watching him figure things out and of course you have to cheer him on, he just loves it!!!

Girls room cont.

Here are some pictures of the girl's room. We decided to do the strips, and I love it! I think it's so cute. The girls like it too, and that's what really matters:) It was a little time consuming, but knowing that going into it, made it seem not so bad. We had fun!!!
