Slip n Slide

Yesterday we pulled out the slip n slide for the kids. They have been asking to do it or swim in their swimming pool all winter long. They didn't care if it was cold, they still wanted to do it. So they were SO excited. Rylan wasn't sure about it all at first, but it didn't take long for him to play and splash in the water!!

This was at lunch yesterday. The girls were lifting their hands and saying whoooo....

And here is Rylan doing what his sister's are doing. The girls would do it, then Rylan, then everyone would laugh. It continued for quite awhile. It is so fun to see Rylan interacting with the girls and all of them getting along!! Rylan also enjoying running and chasing the girls around the house. The girls get a kick out of it too!! I just love these little ones so much!!!

Teeth, Round 2!!

Rylan had another tooth break through Tuesday. Yay for teeth. It is his opposite bottom tooth. So he has one on the top and one of the bottom, opposite sides. That is exactly what happened with Bethany also. With her, it was right around Halloween so we called her our little jack-o-latern. Kind of funny that their teeth are coming in the same. It won't be long until Rylan adds to his teeth collection, there are a couple more that are getting ready to pop through. Here is a picture of Bethany with her 1 tooth on the top, you can really see the one on the bottom, but it is there. I haven't gotten a picture of Rylan's yet...

Teeth!!!

Rylan finally got his first tooth!! A day before 13 months old!! Crazy huh. He is our lastest getting his teeth...although not by much. Bethany didn't get her first tooth until 12 1/2 months, and Hannah was 8 months when she got her 1st two, but then didn't get anymore until she was over a year old also. Rylan's gums have been swolen for awhile, and I knew any day they would just pop through. It is one of his top ones, where I thought his bottoms would come first. Anyways, he is not the happiest boy right now, and I thinking he will probably have a bunch come in all together, but at least he is getting them. The dr. told me at his 12 month checkup that the later the teeth come in, the healther they are. So he is just trying to be healthy, right!!!

Our Week

I know it has been forever since I have updated our blog! Life has been a little busy, and really when it came down to updating our blog or doing something else, that something else just seemed a little more fun. So watch out for the long post! This last week Ky's mom came to visit!! We had such a fun time with her! We are so glad she could come!!

On Tuesday we went to a Isotopes baseball game. It was a lot of fun. Our good friends Michelle and Kyle are able to get suite tickets through his work for free. So for joyschool we went to the game for a fieldtrip.
The joyschool kids! Bethany and the boys. It sounds like next year it will be the same with Hannah and the new joyschool group we are forming. Lots of boys!! We are keeping our eyes open for some girls!!

On Wednesday we went to the botanical gardens. It was fun to be out and see all the pretty flowers coming up!!
You will notice that the girls are wearing matching clothes, and this isen't the first time! They dress themselves, and they enjoying matching. I have people ask me if I put them in matching clothes, and I say, no but they do!!

The girls were so excited to ride the train. The train runs from the zoo to the aquarium/gardens. It is an hour round trip. Rylan also really enjoyed the train.

On Thursday we went and explored the indian ruins. We first stopped at the Quarai ruins. The pueblo indians lived here from about 1400-1600. Then a Spanish mission was then created to convert and save the indians. It took about 100 years for the Spaniards to use up all the resources and the indians either died of famine or war with the Apaches or left the area.

Then we headed down to the Gran Quivira Ruins. It wasn't in as good as shape as the last, but still fun to see. The scary thing is we walked right past a huge rattlesnake! It was kind of hiding in the rocks that we walked over. We are so glad that we didn't accidently step on it. Then we walked down the path a little more and there was another rattlesnake, right where we were suppose to walk. So we took a detour to avoide that one. It was scary, and we continued to watch our step the rest of the time!

Then our last stop was at Abo Ruins. We went into the vistor center here, and the ranger was telling us that he got bite by a rattlensnake at Gran Quirira. Kind of crazy!

Friday me and Ky were able to go to the temple while his mom watched the kids. We so appreciated her doing that! It was so nice to go to the temple together!! We were able to be the witness couple, which we haven't done since right after we were married. A funny story to go with that... After we were married we went on a road trip to Seattle for our 2nd reception. We were able to go the the Seattle temple while we were there. I was so excited to go, but still a little nervous having it be my 2nd time doing endowments. Well they asked us to be the witness couple, then I got really nervous..having it be all so new. Then after we got home from our honeymoon we went to the SLC temple, and again I was nervous because now it was going to be a live season, so it would be different again, and not really knowing what to expect. We get there and they ask us again to be the witness couple. I remember wondering if I would ever be able to go to the temple without being the witness couple. And it took 7 years for us to be asked again!! So it was fun being able to do that, it brought back some memories of our early days!!!

Then when we got home we went to Old Town. It seems to be a classic place to visit when we have vistors in town! And as long as we can stop at the rocky mountain chocolate factory I am happy!!!

After Old Town, we headed over to the Natural History Museum. On Friday's from 4-5 pm it is free! I had been before with the kids, by Ky hadn't. It was fun seeing the dinosaurs, they also have a volcano you can walk through. You'll notice the girls have matching shirts on again:) That was all them!!
Then on Saturday we took Bethany to ballet, and went to the elephant restraunt for lunch. Then we took Grandma to the airport. We sure had a fun and busy week.

Strong Boy!!

We thought that this was so funny! Rylan was pushing Bethany around on the airplane. We were surprised that he could push her. Bethany sure enjoyed it, she got a free ride!!!

Something else Rylan likes to do, he loves to get in with the toys. He does this with the other toy bins we have also. It's so funny!!!

Time Out For Women

Last weekend I got to go to Time Out For Women with some friends! I had such a good time. It was a much needed break for me, some time with no kids!!! Thanks to Ky for being such a good sport and watching all the kids Friday night and all day Saturday. I am also so glad that I have some good friends that I could go with. I am so blessed with their friendship. Thanks girls!!!

Wobbly Legs!

A updated video of Rylan. He is really starting to get around, and has decided that walking is a good way to travel! He's pretty wobbly, but getting the hang of it. I'm happy, because know when we go play outside, which is quite often his hands and knees will stay clean!! Yay!

Nap time

I just have to post that right now ALL of my kids are asleep!!! That NEVER happens...maybe a handful times a year. It is so quiet:) Bedtime will be interesting, but live in the moment right!!!

Conference Fun

We had a nice relaxing Sunday, and we really enjoyed watching conference.
We watched it on our computer. It was really nice to stay home and stay in our pajama's all day!! We moved our big bean bag chair over in front of the computer to watch it. Rylan was so funny. I had gotten up to do something I come back and this is what I find. Rylan had crawled up on the bean bag and layed down exactly where I had been laying, and on my pillow. As you can see he is avoiding looking at the camera, he is trying to be tricky!! What do you mean I took your place, I was here all along:)
Then I told Rylan to go get Hannah, he sure did. He went and layed on her!! Good thing Hannah thought it was funny too.

I really enjoyed Elder Ballards talk as well. Many of you have posted on your blog that you enjoyed it too! It was just what I needed. I know I need to spend more time with the kids and enjoy this precious time when they are here in my home. The last 3 days I have made a special effort to play with them in the mornings and we have had lots of fun! When Elder Ballard talked to the children for a minute, I told the girls listen up, he's talking to you. After he was done, Bethany jumped up and said, "I need to go make your bed, because the prophet told me to." Although I don't think he said exactly to make your parent's bed, she got the idea that they should help out. I thought it was so cute, if only she will stay that obedient the rest of her life:) She has since done lots of other things to help me, "because the prophet told her to." I really appreciate her!! (She knows he isen't the prophet that he is an apostle, but still calls him that.)

It was fun to "introduce" them to the new prophet, and to have them hear him and see who he is. Hannah has been asking, "When are we going to get a new President Hinckley?" Kind of funny. So it was good to be able to show her that we have a new prophet, that isen't President Hinckley. It is interesting to think, that this may be the prophet they grow up knowing, hopefully President Monson is around for a long time!! What a great man!!

The Doctors

Today Rylan had his 1 year old checkup and Hannah had her 3 year old checkup. They both got shots, so that was lots of fun. Hannah did pretty good, but once we got home told me she couldn't walk because her leg hurt. She soon got over that when they went outside to play. Rylan did pretty good with his too, he cried but got over it.

Rylan weighed in at 18 lbs 4 ounces...which means he has dropped off the growth chart, and was 29 inches which puts him around 19th percent. Last time he was at the dr. at 9 months, he weighed 17 lb 6 ounces..so he has gained less than a pound in the last 3 months. Crazy!! It has gotten me a little stressed out, especially since I am trying to get him weaned and I worry about him not eating enough. The dr. said he was not worried at all, that he has not had any major sickness in the last year and he is a healthy little boy, just little.

On to getting him weaned. Some of you know that Rylan is being difficult. He does not care for milk, chocolate milk or juices. He will drink water, but even that not much. The dr. had some good points though... First he said that cow's milk was made really for cows. He then asked me "How many mammels do you know that continue to drink milk after they are weaned?" none. "How many species do you know of that drink some other species milk other than there own?" None. And cows make milk, but don't drink milk, and they get their calcium through grass. So pretty much he said, If Rylan will only drink water, give him water. As long as you make sure he has a well balanced diet, he is ok without the milk. So it will be a little more work to feed him actual food more, but it can be done. It was nice that he was laid back about it, and it really is no big deal! So we'll see what Rylan does.

Power Ranger:

The lights in our home were flickering during a recent thunderstorm. When my 4 year old son, Zachary, saw this, he strolled over to me and said, "Mom, I think our house needs new batteries."

On A Roll:

My 4 year old son, Clay, and I were discussing the milestones his new baby brother would achieve in the coming months. He knew about crawling and walking, but I told him there were other things that come first, like rolling. He thought for a moment and said, "I think the rolling will be easier if we put him on a hill."

What A Handful:
My 3 year old son, Nikolas, and I were in the car on the way to his swimming lesson when he told me he had to go to the bathroom. I asked him if he could hold it until we got to the pool and he replied, "No, Mommy. I have candy in my hands!"

Soul Survivor:
Our family was at church when my 4 year old son, Jeff, started to act out. I told him if he continued to misbehave he'd be in huge trouble and we'd have to leave. When he didn't stop, I had no choice but to pick him up and carry him out. As I walked towards the exit, Jeff turned to the congregation and yelled out, "Please pray for me!"

Our second house!!

This last weekend, we bought our second house! And the kids LOVE IT!!!! I spent most of the morning yesterday putting it together for them. It was fun to figure it out. Reminded me of the days when I helped my dad build houses...well kind of. I got everything together except the roof and the porch. The kids needed me by then, so I left it for Ky. The kids have had so much fun playing in it!
