p260 week 31
Video chatting with my good old cat chubby, oh and my mom too!! The kids love video chatting!!
Bryleigh sleeping in her bed for the first time. She ended up waking up around 11:30 and woke Dallen up too. Then we were up with Dallen for 2 hours, he was really croupy and was scaring me. So Bryleigh hasn't been back in her bed yet. I really don't like this sharing room stuff!
Someone is (did) turning eight! Lots of preparations going on here for her!
We grew a super carrot! We thought it was a bunch of carrots from what the green part looked like above the ground. But nope, it was one giant carrot, that we didn't even plant this year. The seeds are from last year. It tasted yummy!
Making prayer pretzels. We are doing a countdown to Bethany's baptism. Everyday we have a little lesson and activity that goes along with baptism. Today we learned about praying and encouraged Bethany to pray and to get an answer for herself whether it is right for her to baptized. Hopefully we still have a baptism this weekend!! :) p260 week 30
We started reading Little House on the Prairie to the kids before bedtime. The girls are more interested in it than the boys. But it has been fun to read it together, and it helps wind the kids down for bed.
It has also helped us to do our family scripture study, since we are already gathered together. I liked this picture with Hannah reading her scriptures with Christ behind her smiling. I know HF and Jesus are so happy when we read the scriptures together and are truly smiling down on us!
Bryleigh turned two months old. Hannah thought we should of gone out to dinner to celebrate!
Bryleigh being two months old got to have her two month old checkup. All the kids got to go which is always fun! They really think it is and love going to the dr. The big kids hiding and waiting for Dr. Tom to come in. They all get to help him with his tools and he takes them to get stickers when they are done! Bryleigh had to get 3 shots and Dallen also had to get 1. Dallen is so tough, he didn't even cry! Bryleigh on the other hand wouldn't stop!
Hannah taking a nap during quite time. She is so cute! Tuesday, August 2, 2011
famous question
Here's all my babies around 2 months old, so you can decide. She definitely fits in with the family! And I'm pretty sure that she will have the darker hair like Hannah's, since Dallen's had already turned light by then, and the other two always had lighter hair.I'm one lucky girl to have all these sweet kids given to me!!
2 months
Bryleigh is now 2 months old. She is still such a good babies which I am so grateful for! She is very content and easy going. She still sleeps a lot during the day and at night, but is having more periods of wakefulness, which is fun! She has her fussy moments, usually before she goes to bed at night. Some days are fussy days (maybe once a week), but she usually makes up for it the next day by sleeping all day.
She usually goes to bed around 7-8 at night and will sleep until 4-5 in the morning. She wakes up to eat, then goes back to bed until 7-8. After her last feeding at night she just kind of conks out. She gets into such a deep sleep. Usually at this point (with my other kids) I put them in their beds so I can get stuff done, but that is my favorite time of day to hold her, with no interruptions from anyone. I usually don't lay her down until I'm ready for bed. I am holding her now as I type.
She is growing so fast! She weighs somewhere between 10-11 pounds. We'll find out tomorrow at the dr.'s. She likes to eat every couple hours, but will go a couple long stretches during the day if she gets into a good sleep.
update: 10 pounds 13 ounces, 22.5 inches long
Her weight is right inbetween the other's. Dallen and Bethany were slightly smaller, and Hannah and Rylan slightly bigger. Just like their birth weights. It's good to know my kids can stay on their growth curve!
She is such a smiley girl. Especially in the mornings when I change her diapers she always gives me huge smiles. It is a great way to start the day! She also enjoys it when the kids talk and play with her and she will give them some big smiles too. The kids love it!!
She has discovered her hands even more. We knew she liked her hands before she got here, from the ultrasound pictures. But she has figured out how to control them more and get them to where she wants. Which is usually in or around her mouth. She loves to chew on them.
My friend told me the other day that she makes having a baby look so easy. I agreed with her that she is most of the time easy. I'm glad that she is so I can enjoy her even more!!
Bethany always wants to know how far away she can see now, and how well can she hold up her head. She is holding her head up really good now!
This boy still just adores her!! Can't you see it in his eyes. He tells me "I love Bryleigh the mostest." He takes every opportunity to be next to her and talk to her. He has to give her a kiss every night before he goes to bed. It is really cute and I'm curious to see if this connection continues as she grows. I remember Hannah being this way with Dallen.
This little boy is getting more curious with Bryleigh and likes to hold her more. But he really enjoys stealing her headbands!p260 week 30
The kids started swim lessons again. They are all enjoying it and look forward to it every day.
The kids completed the Dions reading club and they got a free t-shirt and baseball tickets to the Isotopes game. So we decided to go. It was fun but the kids were not very into it. I spent the whole time running to and from the bathroom with Dallen. Rylan was tired and was asking if it was over before it had started. And the girls were ok, but not really into it. Bethany was asking if the game had started yet after the 1st inning was over, and Hannah was asking if there were two teams playing when we were about to leave. So before we go again we may have to teach them a little about baseball!
I was a slacker this week and didn't take many pictures. So here is Bryleigh's birth announcement. Seems like forever ago that she joined our family!!p260 week 29
The girls wanted curly hair, so that's what we did. Hannah got the curlers in her hair and Bethany got the braids. They were happy!
Bryleigh's smile that we all love!
Rylan finished his first 150 piece puzzle all by himself. He has gone on to complete a couple 300 piece puzzles. It may take him a week or more, but he gets them done.
So I decided it was time to pump this little guy full of liquids and put underwear on him, also known as potty training. I use a 3 day method and they say by the end of the 3rd day it will click for them. I also used it for Rylan and he got it on the first day. It clicked for Dallen on day 3 an hour before bedtime. I had a meltdown earlier that day and was convinced it was a hopeless cause, but he proved me wrong. It took another week for him to get more consistent, and figure out his body cues, but he is doing great. We still need to figure out the pooping on the potty. He's only done it twice, but I can tell he is trying and that counts for a lot. And he also needs to get brave enough to tell other people, like his nursery teacher, or a babysitter. But hey I'll take it, overall he is doing awesome and are so proud of him!
Then he lays down! After that it didn't much matter he was soaked!
