snow again

So the snow is starting to make me a little cranky!  We have had snow on the ground since Christmas Eve.  It was fun before, but now it just needs to go away! 

 This storm we were still feeling ok with the snow and we had fun playing in it.  (just the 10 storms afterwards were not ok!!)

We got that big hill from the plow trucks and by shoveling our driveway. The kids thought it would be a good hill to sled down.

Poor Dallen had a hard time walking in the snow.  It was up to his waist.

I talked Kyle into going out and helping the kids sled down the little hill, since I didn't want to go out in the cold.  He was a good sport!!

Bryleigh stayed inside with me, since she would need help walking around in the snow.  But she thought it was a good idea to eat the snow that would fall off of the kids clothes when they would come inside.

When we got home from our trip from Washington, we got to have some visitors.  My sister's family make a last minute trip to Utah and they stayed with us for a couple days.  The kids were in heaven!!

My mom came up to visit one night too.  It was fun having everyone together for a little bit!

Seattle

Another tradition is ride the ferry across the water to Seattle.  This was Bryleigh's first ride that she knew what was going on!

We always eat at Ivar's for lunch.  It is the best seafood on the pier, don't let anyone tell you differently   Seriously the best fish and chips and clam chowder!

Then we feed the seagulls afterwards.  Man are they crazy and loud!

Then we ended our Seattle trip by visiting the troll under the bridge.  Fun stuff!!

Washington

We left the day after Christmas and headed up to Washington to visit my dad and my sister.  It was so nice to see them and to get to spend some time with them.

We always go down to Poulsbo as one of our traditions. We like to walk around the waterfront and the cute little downtown, and then get doughnuts afterwards.

We went to Azteca for lunch.  Another favorite from growing up.

We went to another waterfront in Silverdale, and walked out on the dock and played at a park there.

We stopped and visited my Grandma and Grandpa Davis.  It was a special visit where I could feel her there with me.  Man, I miss her!!  She was always so much fun!

We went on a little hike in my Dad's neighborhood.  Yep this was down a little trail down the street from his house.  I forgot how cool it is living in the "forest".

This was a house that sat on the edge of the trail, and there were steps coming down to where we were.  The kids were saying how they want to live there and how cool that was. It was fun telling them that that is how I grew up.  We had 5 acres growing up and had so much fun exploring them.  It would make me super nervous now a days and I don't know how much exploring I would let my kids do if we lived in such a place.  At least not without Kyle or me with them.

On our last day before heading home we drove a few miles from my dad's house and played at the beach for a little bit.  

It's fun to collect seashells, find crap legs, and skip rocks in the water.

I love going back to visit my dad.  I feel like a tourist now.  Growing up I took for granite all the beauty I grew up around.  The pretty green everywhere and the pretty water everywhere.  It always makes me homesick and it makes me want to move back to Washington.  

Trying so hard to skip a rock.  Maybe next time you'll get it!

The fun drive home.  It is way too long of a drive I decided!  I'm used to our 9-10 hour drive from Albuquerque to Utah, not the 12 hour drive from Utah to Washington.  It doesn't seem like that much longer, but believe me, it is!!!
