from the beginning

He has been a thumb sucker. And not just any thumb sucker...but only a left handed one. It makes me wonder...if he may be left handed??
Only time will tell!

Christmas at our house

We had such a fun Christmas! Christmas Eve we got Chinese food, the kids opened their new PJ's, went and looked at luminaries and Christmas lights, and then the kids exchanged gifts to each other. It's fun watching them get so excited to give their gifts!

Look at these two, I love it!!

Hannah with her lepster, and new dress up scarf. Santa also brought a new play kitchen that she loves! She was the first one up in the morning, 5:30.
Rylan with his football. He was pretty excited about it! He also got a new train table that he loves! He was the 2nd one up at 6:00.

Bethany with her new scarf, lepster, and tie shoes. She learned a little while ago how to tie shoes, and was so excited to finally have some tie shoes. She wore them around the house all day. We woke her up at 6:00 since the other kids were awake. But she did come into our room at 12:30 declaring that she couldn't sleep anymore and she was ready for Christmas! We were not happy with her...and she eventually went back to sleep.

This little guy got woken up at 6:00 by Rylan. He normally would of gone back to sleep, but we kept him up. He didn't get quite as much as the other kids, but he was happy!

We had fun watching the nativity and then acting it out. The kids continued to act it out again and again. It was fun to watch them!

We had a great Christmas, staying home and enjoying eachother. We stayed in our pajama's all day, it was wonderful!!!

The night before Christmas...

The night before Christmas and all through the house not a creature was stirring, not even a ......

Ho Ho Ho

We went and saw Santa today. The kids were all so excited! This is the first year that I got all of the kids to sit on Santa's lap. Yes, it is the first year with all 4, but it's the first year all of our current kids would sit on his lap. Last year Rylan would have nothing to do with him, and the year's before that it was one of the girls that would have nothing to do with it. So yay!!

The girls had a good conversation with Santa. He told them that they have all been so good this year, and he would visit them tomorrow night. Good thing Bethany got back on the good list, she was on the naughty list for awhile! That could sure backfire! The girls told him they both want a leapster, books and barbies.

Rylan was the first one to run up to Santa's lap. He was getting very impatient waiting his turn...he was just too excited. He told Santa that he wanted a train for Christmas.

The girls wanted to know where his sleigh was...I told them to ask Santa. He did bring snow to us from the north pole though. That was fun!!

Birthday Boy

We had fun celebrating Ky's birthday last weekend. We did a "surprise" party for him on Friday. It was Hannah's idea to do the surprise party, and I thought it was a great idea! His birthday was on Saturday so I figured he really wouldn't expect in on Friday. Well Hannah also thought it would be fun to tell him about his surprise party. "Daddy guess what we are going to have a surprise party for you tomorrow!" But Hannah didn't tell him what we were doing at the party...so it was ok.

We made him a big birthday sign and blew up balloons. When it was about time for him to get home, the kids went and hide in the living room. And when he opened the door they all jumped out and said surprise...and they really surprised him. They thought that was so fun!!

We had a yummy dinner, opened presents. The kids all had certain things they wanted to get him. Bethany gum, Hannah a tie, and Rylan a blue car. Ate angel food cake (made from scratch) and it was super yummy, and then we played his new wii game, super mario brothers, which is really fun by the way!

It was a fun surprise party!

On Saturday for his real birthday, we got to take the girls to ballet class, went to sweet tomatoes for lunch and then went to the New Mexico Bowl game...which wasn't as bad as I thought. Ky really enjoyed himself, and that's all that mattered.

Now he just needs to stop having birthdays, so I can catch up with him!

So tonight while cleaning up my desk, I came across a paper that on the bottom said,

"I don't like mommy".

It was crossed out over and over, but still. After questioning Bethany she said she wrote it the day she was frustrated with me. Ha

Then later after Rylan had come out of his room about the 10th time at bedtime, I finally got a little stern and told him to get in bed and stay there. He comes out not a minute later to tell me "mommy, your not very nice". It made me chuckle, because it was oh so cute.

But at the end of the day I am wondering wow...I devote all my time to these kiddos and this is what I get?? Good thing Ky is giving me a raise in January! :)

And I know deep down they do love me and appreciate what I do. Sometimes it's nice when they choose to show their love more though!

i love dady

Bethany got in trouble for playing with my treadmill....so I went old school and made her write "I will not touch mommies treadmill" to fill the paper.

During it I heard her saying "I want daddy". I noticed when she was finished that she wrote "I love dady" in the middle of her page.

I think she was a little upset with me! But it gave me a little laugh anyways!

This was a good punishment for her, since writing is not her favorite thing. If I send her to her room for timeout she will just play or read a book. So there may be more of this writing in the near future!

This girl is just amazing!

Yesterday she had her science project presentation. This is a 30 minute power point presentation. She presented this all by herself in front of her 20 classmates. Afterwards the class gets to ask her questions...and I though she may have a hard time with that. But no...she was able to answer the questions with no hesitation.....it was so fun to see her be so independent and grown up. She did great!

She is also in her question phase. She is always thinking and has so many questions. Some days I have to tell her that I'm not answering any more questions...or she can go ask Hannah and they can try to figure it out. I'm glad that she is so curious and wants to know about stuff.

She started ballet again...and isn't liking it as much as last time around. We'll see if she gets used to it and likes it more as time goes by. She keeps saying that she misses soccer....so we will see.

This little girl is so much fun! She loves to play with Rylan in the mornings and she loves taking care of Dallen for me. If I have to leave the room I always ask her to watch Dallen for me and I know she will and do a great job!

She unlike her sister is loving ballet. She has been waiting for a long time to go back!

She is in the process of learning to read. She gets frustrated that she can't already just pick up and read any book. I have to remind her that it's a process. She is doing great! In the meantime she enjoys picking up any book and telling her own story. She is a great storyteller. She always surprises me with what she comes up with. She also does this when we read scriptures. She wants a turn to read and she will make up her own story that even sounds like scriptures!

She is so fun to sit down with and talk with. She always has soo much to say!

It seems like this boy has grown up soooo much in the last couple of months. I don't know if it's being a big brother, or being potty trained...or maybe both. But he is one of the big kids now!

He loves to play with his cars, tractors, and trains, and dress up in his boy outfits!

He is enjoying being able to play with Dallen more. But it just depends on the day, because some days he REALLY does not like to share with him and gets so mad when Dallen grabs one of his toys.

He is definitely in the middle of his terrible twos. He can be so happy and such a joy....and then one little thing is not just right and he is on the floor screaming. Sometimes it's hard to stay patient with him...but I know it's just a phase that hopefully will be coming to an end very soon!

This little guy is now 7 months old. He is so much fun!!

He smiles and laughs during most of his day. He loves to sit up and see what is going on around him. When we are out and about we usually take him out of his car seat now. It is fun to see him take in the world. He looks around with his eyes wide. It sure keeps him entertained to see all the new and exciting things.

He has fallen off the growth charts for his weight and is holding on by a thread for his height. He is still in his 3-6 month clothes, he's a little guy.

He enjoys eating food. He has had rice and oatmeal cereal. Squash, sweet potatoes, banana's, applesauce, green beans. I need to get to the store to get him some new flavors. He also will drink out of a sippy cup during dinner time. He loves sitting at the table and being a part of it all!

He has had two haircuts already. Only on the sides and back though. I am getting really tempted to cut the top...it is getting a little crazy. But it will be the last of his curls so I probably won't for a little longer.

Thanksgiving and merry christmas

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving! My mom and Garry came down, which is always fun especially for the kids!

It was this little guy's first Thanksgiving, and he even got some sweet potatoes to go with it! He was a happy boy.

After dinner we have a tradition of decorating gingerbread houses. It is probably my favorite part of Thanksgiving! We used to always decorate gingerbread houses with my grandma when we were younger. She would make one house per family of cousins, and their were three. But we were the only grandkids that lived real close, so me and my sister and brother would each get a house to decorate. We would get to take one home, and my grandma would take the other two to my cousin's. It was some good fun times!

Check our Rylan's face. He did good decorating his house, but he makes sure that just as much or more goes in his mouth!

And this little guy was lucky and got to take a nap during all the fun decorating!

Next year buddy!

On Friday we set our tree up and decorated. The kids get a new ornament each year, so they have their little collection of ornaments that they get to put on the tree.
Hannah with her new baby Belle doll and little stash of ornaments. She took the job of being the "mom" very serious. She is taking a break to take care of her baby. She was clever and named her Isabelle...I thought that was pretty cute. She is going to be a wonderful mommy when she grows up! And she'll have to be if she gets the sextuplets that she wants. "I wan 6 babies all at the same time." Can you guess where she got that from....? Jon and Kate plus 8, one of their favorite shows....that we are trying to phase out.

We always do Christmas with my mom when she comes down for Thanksgiving, when we are not planning on going up to Utah for Christmas...which we aren't. So we got part of Christmas a month early. Which is really pretty nice...it helps spread out all the excitement and fun and new toys. So Saturday morning we had our "Christmas morning".

Rylan surprised us by waking up at 4:30 that morning throwing up. It went on for a couple hours. We were trying to figure out if he was really sick or if he just ate too much candy the night before and made himself sick. By that night he had a fever...so he must of had a little bug. And Sunday morning he was throwing up some more. After that he seemed to get better, and no one else got it...so I was happy.

Other than that we just stayed home and the kids loved playing with Da and Garry and their new toys. We had a great Thanksgiving and early Christmas and so enjoyed their company! The kids are already counting down till they come again and talking about what they want to do with them next time!

Soccer wrap up

The girls had their last soccer game a couple weeks ago. The season went by so quickly and it seems like they were just getting into it and it was over. Hannah did so well kicking the ball in and throwing the ball in. No one else was around to take it from her! The last couple weeks when we would get ready for soccer practice so would always ask is it just practice or is it a game? And when I would answer it is practice, she would be disappointed and wanted it to be a game. I was surprised so I asked her why she wanted it to be game day. And she said, because we get prizes! That is about how into it Hannah was. They would get 4 tickets after each game and they got to go pick out prizes with them after the game. THAT was Hannah's favorite part! And notice Hannah's shin guards. She would not wear the socks you were suppose to wear over the shin guards. They did not feel good on her toes. They were a little big and she is very peticular about how her shoes feel. So we used leg warmers instead...they did the job and held on her shin guards.

She also enjoyed playing with her friends on the field. She often would go and give Bethany a big hug while she would be trying to get the ball. And she was way too nice to the other players. At one of the games the other team had the ball and they all fell down, they must of tripped. And Bethany was trying to go get the ball...and Hannah was holding her back telling her to wait for them to get back up. Haha. It was pretty funny. All the parents on the sidelines were yelling...get the ball, get the ball, hurry while their down! Hannah is such a nice girl!

Bethany ended up being our scoring on our team. She scored 2 -4 goals each game after the first. It was fun to see her "get" it and play the game. She did so good. And she was so disappointed when the season was over. She wanted to play more.

Go Tigers!

It was a fun first season of soccer. Bethany wants to play again...and Hannah not so much. But they both learned so much and made us proud!
