p52 week 20

 May 13th to 19th

The boys playing outside.  It seems to be their favorite thing to do right now.  They are becoming little buddies and I love it.  I have been waiting for this day, when they would actually play and have fun and not just fight all the time!

 Hannah had to go to the dentist to get a little cavity filled.  She got to experience laughing gas for the first time.  I was a little disappointed that she didn't come home with any fun stories.  The dentist also pulled her other front tooth which was getting pretty loose.  It was much better than having all that drama trying to get it out ourselves.  I think she preferred it that way too.

Bryleigh in her new play spot, our bathtub.  I had been wanting a place where Bryleigh could play nearby me while I get ready, but not be able to get into all the cabinets.  Rylan had taken Bryleigh into the bathtub one time to play with him.  He then tried to tell me that Bryleigh fell into the tub.  Ya right buddy.  So he got to go to timeout, but he had a great idea.  So she plays in the tub with I shower and get ready.  It is awesome!

mother's day

 Me with my sweet kids.  I always love mother's day, mostly because I am not expected to do much of anything.  Ky treats me very well and makes me breakfast in bed, and also makes lunch and dinner.  If there's a poppy diaper, he changes it.  If someone needs help with something, he is the one doing it.  It is my 1 day off for the whole year!  So yes, I love it probably for the wrong reasons, but it's what I got right now.

 I'm surprised we were able to pull out a descent picture with all the kids, since we started like this. :)

I really do love all my kids to pieces!!  When I think of the day that they are all grown up and have left the house I usually get a little teary eyed.  I have no idea what I am going to do when they don't take up all my time.  It is what I do, take care of and raise my kids. So even though there are days that they drive me crazy, and life is  hard always being needed by someone, I wouldn't change it for anything! They are great kids and they make me so proud.  I love the little people they are becoming.  I love them!!!

I also love my mother and Ky's mother and for all the sacrifices they have made for us and what great grandmothers they are to my kids! 

  

 I am so lucky to be the mother to THESE kids!  They really are the best!!

p52 week 19

 May 6th to 12th

This has been one of my kids favorite toys.  We had one when the girl were little, and it broke.  So we decided it was time to get another one.  I remember not being too sad when it broke, since after awhile it kind of irrates me.  But the kids love it, and it so helps them learn their letters and sounds.

Dallen was playing with it and he starts singing, A-S-S, over and over again.  Ky and I just looked at each other and laughed.  It was right before we went on our trip, and I remember thinking good timing and hopefully he would forget it when we got back.  No such luck.  We got back from our trip and he was still singing his little song.  So I told him that we needed to sing a different song and that it wasn't a nice word.  He hasn't done it since.  Where do they come up with this stuff?  

So Dallen's first word that he spelled was A-S-S. Awesome!

I mentioned that Hannah had pink eye before our trip.  Little Bryleigh also got it once on our trip, then when we got home she had it in both eyes.  See how swollen her eyes are.  Then she got it for a 3rd time this last week.  Bethany also got it once we got home from our trip. 

It seems like we have had our share of sickness the last few weeks.  Starting with the 5 cases if pink eye, Rylan's fever, Hannah had a fever one day, Ky has had a bad cold or allergies, we haven't been able to tell yet, and Rylan broke out in hives.  I am ready for the sickies to be gone and for everyone to be healthy for awhile!

preschool dropout...kind of

 I got these cute pictures of Rylan at the zoo, so I thought I would do a little update on him.

Rylan has been going to a awesome preschool this year!  He has loved it and I have been so happy with it!  Until one day, overnight he did not want to go to preschool anymore.  It was so out of the blue that at first I thought he was joking, but no he wasn't.  He was tired of it.  Tired that they sing the same songs in music time, and his friends always wanted to play police man.  His story stayed the same, and he was tired of preschool. I asked him why he always looked so happy when I would pick him up from preschool.  It looked like he had had fun.  His response was, "I was happy that it was over and you were there to get me."  Ya, didn't see that one coming. I really just think he is getting older and is ready for more structure.  Which is good since he gets to go to kindergarten soon! I let him stay home the first day he didn't want to go, thinking he would get bored at home and be overly anxious to go the next time.  The next preschool day rolled around and nope he still didn't want to go.  I had told him that he needed to finish out the month that we paid for, then he could stop going if he wanted to.  He went that day, but cried about it on the way there.  He had one more week, then we went on our vacation.  I was for sure thinking he would be so ready for it when we got back from our trip, but nope still didn't want to go.  So then it was the hard part of telling his teacher.  She was so sad that he wasn't coming back, I think she really likes Rylan.  So we visited her one day and took her a gift and card that he made. It was a nice closure, more for me than for him. 

  His preschool is doing a preschool graduation, and when I heard about that I was so bummed that he wasn't going to graduate from preschool, since it is so important! :)  No really, I knew he would of enjoyed it so much!  When we visited his teacher she invited him to come back for the graduation.  I was so happy that he can go.  I think that for sure will help with it all being over and him moving on.  I really wanted him to finish off the year, but couldn't make him go if he didn't want too.  So that his is story.  He won't be a preschool dropout that I thought he would be, because he gets to graduate after all!! 

 It has been fun having him home more, and he is getting along better with Dallen, his new playmate.  I have been able to work with him more with the preschool stuff we do at home.  He is very eager to do his workbooks and seems to be soaking it all up. He is starting to read and that gets me very excited!!  Once they learn how to blend their sounds together, it gets so fun!!  He is excited too and wants to go read all his books to Dallen and Bryleigh.  Love this kid!!

Dallen's 3!!

 My little boy turned 3!  His birthday is on May 8th.  He had been asking about his birthday since Rylan's birthday, since he knew his was next.  We had told him that it would be his birthday after we got home from our trip.  He still continued to ask about it every few days, and I think every day we were on our trip.  He was excited when it was finally his birthday.  

He chose to go to the zoo on his birthday.  I took the little kids while the girls were at school.  He picked to go to Dion's for dinner, which he was really excited about.  After dinner we came home and did presents and cake.  He wanted a buzz cake.

 Dallen is such a sweet kid.  He is pretty mellow and goes with the flow most of the time.  He can also be so silly sometimes and he likes to make us all laugh! He is old enough now that he really enjoys to play with the other kids.  Him and Rylan have been having so much fun playing "disneyland" outside.  It's fun to watch him interact more and more.  He can also be very opinionated like with any 3 year old, and has learned how to throw a tantrum, my favorite!  He has also learned what a time out is and he doesn't like it!  He is pretty quick to change his behavior, which is good!!

Then he told me to stop talking to him.... so that was the end of that! 

 He seems to have grown up so much just the last few months.  I think I've mentioned before that he now talks like crazy.  The other night he was yelling at the dinner table, "Let me talk," to his siblings because they were not giving him a turn.  So he is learning to stick up for himself.  My favorite mispronounced word of his is "mustep" which he says for ketchup, but he combines mustard and ketchup.  It's funny because he can say both words, mustard and ketchup, but he likes to combine them for some reason.

11 months

 Look who is 11 months!! Crazy I tell ya!!  She is becoming such a little girl, verses a baby.  Her personality is coming out and is becoming her own little person!  She is a little ball of energy and seems to never stop moving. 

 She has started to eat more people food and less baby food.  She especially loves cut up banana's and strawberries, graham crackers and cheerios.  

 She is still taking two naps a day most days.  If we are out doing errands she does not fall asleep on the go as much.  But if she is super tired she will fall asleep in the car.  She had a hard time adjusting back to her sleeping schedule when we got back from our trip and was up at night 2 or 3 times.  It lasted a little over a week, and I let her cry one night.  That seems to do the trick and she got back into her normal routine of sleeping.  Thank goodness!!

She has started to take a couple steps by herself.  I have mixed feeling about it all.  Of course it is exciting to see her grow and learn new things, but my little baby is gone!  It will be nice for the summer when we spend lots of days at the park if she is walking verses crawling.

 She is very aware of all her siblings around.  She likes to play with them and to interact with them.  I love seeing this! She likes to give you high 5's, she will wave hi and bye, and still loves to clap.  She is starting to imitate more of our words and sounds.

 The other night she was so tired that when I feed her before bed she fell asleep in my arms.  Usually she is still awake and I lay her down in bed, because she won't cuddle but wants to be moving.  So I got to hold my sweet girl while she slept, there is nothing better than holding a sleeping baby!! I was overwhelmed with so much gratitude that she is mine!! I am so lucky!  She has been such a blessing to me and our family and we are so glad she is here with us!

The other thought I have had lately is I saw a old picture of our family before Bryleigh was born.  It is so weird to look at these old pictures and see kids missing from them.  I then get very panicky with, well where was she, who was taking care of her?  Then I get very possessive, of but she is mine!  I know she was in good hands with our Heavenly Father, but it just seems so strange to me that these kids haven't always been with me my whole life.  How could that be!! Then my mind wanders to are there any more spirits waiting to come to our home or have they all made it?  That is the million dollar question!!

Disneyland: Day 5 and the beach

Day 5, our last day we each got to pick two rides to go on, (like we always do) and then we make our way around.

My cute kids, they were such good troupers!  We wore everyone out, but we had SO MUCH FUN!!! Hopefully we will be able to make it one more time before our annual passes expire!

 Our last day in California we went back to the beach.  It would be so fun to be so close to the beach and go whenever we wanted.  I miss living by the water!

The next day we got to make our 11 hour drive home.  It was a long drive, but well worth the wonderful trip!  Until next time!! 

Disneyland: Day 4

I know this is getting old, since I am super tired of posting about Disneyland.  But these memories will be priceless down the road for my family.  The details I add will help them remember the awesome time we had.  So bare with me!!

We started day 4 at California Adventures.  We always start with screamin and the carousel.  Notice that Hannah has her hands up on it.  She went from scared to super brave so fast!!  It is so fun going on rides with these two.  Notice that Bethany is posing for the camera.

Rylan on his dolphin.  By the end of the week, the boys no longer wanted to ride the carousel.  They rode it so much they got tired of it.  They really need some more little kid rides over there!!

By Thursday we were all so tired and grumpy.  Everyone at Disneyland was super rude that day.  (I know it was really just me, but seriously people!)  We had been at the park pretty much from open to close the first three day because we were having so much fun and it was not very busy.  So we only stayed until around 3ish, and we decided to go back to the hotel and just rest.  It was nice to go and get off our feet. It made it so we had the energy to enjoy our last day more.
