left out

This little man needs a post too. I meant to do a 15 month update, then 16th month, then 17th month...and now he is 17 1/2 months and here we are.
Little D LOVES to scream and squeal. He has the highest pitch voice I have ever heard and he often hurts our ear. His nickname is little screamer!

He loves trains, cars, trucks and balls.
He had his first day at nursery this last Sunday. He did pretty well the 1st hour, until they put the toys away...then he got pretty mad. He seems way to little to be in nursery...crazy how fast they grow up!

This is the first time I asked him to smile for the camera and he actually did. I love that you can see his 4 top teeth which are the only teeth he has so far. His bottom front 2 are about to pop through. Definitely my latest teether. But the dr. says the later they come the better they are!

I am planning on doing another update on him at 18 months.......

cute baker

Need I say more?
He loves to help in the kitchen. Especially when he is the only one helping in the kitchen and gets to help with everything! This time we were making gingerbread muffins. He is wearing my apron from when I was about his size. Don't mind the ruffles!

square dancing

My girls love square dancing and know so much more about it than I do. Their school does an annual square dancing event. They get to do some dancing lessons during school so they are familiar with the them. They danced pretty much the whole time we were there!
Rylan gave it a try for about 3 minutes. Then decided to go stand on the side with Dallen and look out the window.

balloons

Another favorite for us is the balloon fiesta the first 2 weeks in October. This year we went to the special shapes glowedo. It is in the evening and the balloons are tethered to the ground. Once they are all up and it is dark, all the balloons glow. Afterward they have a firework show that is also pretty cool.Hannah's favorite is the bees. The mom and dad just had the baby girl...pretty cute! Bethany's favorite is the cow. Rylan liked all of them!
Some of the days the balloons will fly south in the morning and we get some that go right over our house. They are so loud that when we hear them we run outside to see them. We love the balloons!

pumpkin patch

At the beginning of the month we went to the pumpkin patch. We love the pumpkin patch! It's one of our favorite things about fall!We rode our hayride out to the patch. And we all found our pumpkins. The kids had to be able to carry their own. After we found our pumpkins we went through the corn maze and climbed the hay stacks. The kids also enjoyed the fun slides and seeing all the animals.
It was a fun day, and so warm! I think the first time that we didn't need jackets!

forces and motion

Hannah did her first science presentation (about a month ago). She was super excited. She loved practicing at home and loved being in front of her classmates. She made a flipchart that she used for her presentation. Then she got to do an experiment with a few classmates. She did great and it was fun to see her have such a good time with it!!

B's 3rd

She finally lost another tooth. This one has been loose forever! She came home from school with her tooth looking like the above picture, so I knew it was so close. It was so interesting watching her teeth spread apart on top as it got looser. She didn't used to have a gap. She spent the rest of the night wiggling it and trying to get it out. When it was literally hanging by a thread a pulled it the rest of the way. She has started to talk a little funny, and I'm sure it will only get worse when the tooth next to it comes out, which is also loose. I have been trying to convince her to be a jack o lantern for Halloween, but she's not going for it!

Ry's half

On the 28th of September, we celebrated Ry's half birthday. He was so excited that it was finally his turn. He wanted a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting (that seems to be the fav around here). Since it is also my favorite and am trying not to eat cake I tried to convince him to have a different flavor. Well he yelled at me "I WANT CHOCOLATE CAKE WITH CHOCOLATE FROSTING!" So that is what he got.

I love watching Rylan (and the girls) get so excited that it is their special day, and that it happens more than once a year. It is all worth it!
When Ry takes a nap or at bedtime he has to sleep with his monkey and Dallen's bear. I don't know how that doesn't drive him crazy, but he likes it!
Rylan is seriously the funniest kid ever. He makes me laugh all the time. Today we were at the dr. office and I was mentioning to the kids that we are going to have to get flu shots soon. He goes "Yikes" with a worried look on his face. There were a few other things he has done lately that have cracked me up, but my brain is done. Be on the look out for more Ry quotes.
I so appreciate his sense of humor!!
