new kindergartener

Hannah had her first real day of kindergarten today. She was excited and I was so excited for her! She is so ready to start school and will have so much fun learning new things and making new friends! She got to go into her classroom last Thursday for a couple hours to do some fun activities and assessments. So she wasn't nervous today because she had already been to school.
Bethany wanted to get her picture taken again today too.

I am also so excited to have more time with my boys!
Dallen will sleep most of the afternoon away, so that will give me one on one time with Rylan, which he has never really had. It will be so fun to get to know him more, and watch him step up and be to the big brother role while sisters are in school.

And while Rylan is still taking his naps, I will score a couple hours of quite for me!
This is going to be a great year....I think for everyone!!

odd

For the next 6 months all the kids will be a odd number for their age. I thought it was funny that Hannah and Rylan got on their birthday shirts for Bethany's birthday party.

So I had to get a picture!

7

Bethany turned 7 last Friday. She decided she wanted to go roller skating for her birthday and have cheesy macaroni and hot dogs for dinner.
Roller skating was fun but adventuresome. I am the only one that had been skating before. The girls I each took around once and after that they could skate next to the wall. Rylan never really quite figured out how to keep up in his skates. One of the times I took him around his skates caught mine and I (we) fell. He feel on my lap..but I hit the ground hard, and couldn't catch myself since I was holding onto Rylan. I have been hurting since and can't do much of anything. I am hoping it heals quickly! Ky went around once and decided he didn't like it and turned his skates back in. So our next date may have to be at the roller rink so I can teach him to skate so he can help next time we go. Hannah is already planning on going back for her birthday.
The kids really enjoyed it, and that is what really matters!!

She got to open her presents...her favorite part of birthdays.

And have cake of course. She did request a cake and not cupcakes because you get more cake with the actual cake than cupcakes. Smart girl. And this cake is chocolate with chocolate frosting...her favorite!

On Saturday she had her party with her friends. Tinkerbell was the theme.

They played pin the wings on tinkerbell, who stole tinks ring, did some relay races, fairy freeze tag and ended with a scavenger hunt. She had a good time with her friends!
Happy Birthday Bethany!!
This boy loves balloons....and will scream at you until you give them to him.

a new second grader

This girl was soooo happy that the day had finally come to go back to school. She enjoyed summer for maybe the first month...then it started to drag on for her. She was ready for school.

She was a little scared and nervous having a new teacher this year and some new classmates. She had the same teacher for K and 1st with mostly the same kids. Some of those kids are in her new class this year, which I think helped her to have some familiar faces on the first day.

But mostly she was just so excited to go to school. She LOVES school and learning new things!!

We LOVE her school too, it is the best!

Her first 2 days were a success. She loves her teacher, has enjoyed seeing her old friends and has already made some new friends. They pretty much just played and did some fun activities! I'd say a great way to get back in the swing of things! She came home the first day grinning from ear to ear saying "I'm a second grader now mom!" She is pretty proud.

toothless-less=d

On D's 15 month mark he got his first tooth. Definitely the latest one in our house to get a tooth. I was just relieved that he finally had a tooth. I was having visions of baby dentures....which is just not good. So yay, he does have teeth in there...somewhere!!

The tooth that came in is on the top right, not one of his front teeth.

So he is not known as toothless anymore, but fang. And if that become plural to fangs...I will laugh really hard and hold him down for a picture! His top gums are all swollen and it looks like the other side may be the next one to come through...only time will tell.

the last of summer

The last couple weeks of summer we enjoyed our no schedule days and added in lots of fun things. We spent most days of the week at the park. The kids can never get enough, but mom can!

Can you find Bethany in the pictures?

We did lots of bike riding at the track while mommy ran and Dallen rode.

Went to a open gym gymnastics for a friends birthday party!

And enjoyed the aquarium with some awesome friends!

Bethany wanted her picture taken by the purple fish!
It has been a great summer and have done tons of fun stuff.
But I think all of us are ready to say goodbye to summer!!

Grandpa

We were lucky to have my dad come visit last week. We really enjoyed having him here. The kids (and me) can never get enough of him!!

We ventured out to the Salinas Pueblos one day. It was fun seeing all the old ruins. You can see how big it is in the above picture.

I love these pictures with my dad and my boys!

The next day we road the rail runner up to Santa Fe. The kids were so excited to ride the train. It was a lot of fun.

Hannah and Rylan watching the train go over some penny's my dad put on the track. After the train passed they found the pennies that were smashed flat. They love it!

We went to a farmers market that was at the train station and a fun park for the kids.

We were waiting for the shuttle to take us to the plaza and Hannah was resting because she was tired. It was such a fun way to experience Santa Fe, and we will be going again!

The last day they were here we celebrated Bethany's birthday. She got to pick what to do and she picked Itz of course.
They she got to open presents and have cake. My dad also surprised her with her very first trick candles...and they kept going forever! We all got a good laugh out of it!! She loved it all!

And a grandpa visit wouldn't be complete without horsey rides. My dad is a good sport! We had a great week with him!
