Isotopes

The last few years we have started the tradition of going to a Isotopes game during the summer. Dion's does a summer reading program and at the end you get a official t-shirt and a ticket to a game.  We like going to the 12:00 game because it doesn't interfere with bedtime, but then it is usually super hot. So we usually only make it to about the seventh inning.

 It's pretty dead during that time of day, so we get some good seats.

Kyle took the four older kids to our ward campout. I opted to stay home with Bryleigh, mostly to get a much needed break, but also sleeping in a tent with five little kids does not sound fun at all!  And from what I heard, it was not very pleasant!  We went and bought each kid a new sleeping bag to sleep in and Kyle took an air mattress and sleeping bag for him.  Bethany was not comfortable (go figure!) so he let her sleep on the air mattress, and he slept on the ground.  Yes I was happy that I was home in my nice cozy bed! But they did have a fun time.

The boys are taking a rest and playing ipods, one of their favorite past times.  Later Dallen dropped Kyle's ipod on some rocks and cracked the screen pretty good! 

Dallen had a tough time at first. It was his first time camping, and he is a big time momma's boy.  He just kind of moped around and didn't want to do anything and wanted to go home.  He didn't eat his dinner, but did ask for his hotdog for breakfast.  The next night when they were home, he did some of the same stuff, where he was just laying around, but we just thought he was tired.  We went out to Dion's for dinner, and he ended up throwing up all over the place.  So he wasn't feeling very good at camp, but after they got home he wanted to go back the next day.  She I guess he had fun afterall!

Bethany reading a book.  She usually reads about a book a day!  We got her one of the 39 clue books for her to read.  Kyle borrowed it to read it and then she decided that she wanted to read it.  So she finished it in about 3 days, and Kyle is still working on it.  She loved it!

After their unrestful night, they had a good breakfast and some hot chocolate and were probably the first one's out of camp.  They were headed home by 8:00 to make it to a birthday party at 11:00.

They had fun and talked about it for days!

p52 week 29

July 15th to 21st

 The kid's with their mater.  They had so much fun coloring this thing and playing in it.  After a couple weeks it was driving me crazy so we had the kids say goodbye.  But they wanted pictures first!  

 The inside of mater.  They colored and marked pretty much every inch of this thing.  They said that they turned the inside into a art gallery! Creative kids!

 My cute Rylan.  We got home from church and he told me that he wore all blue today!  Yes, you did!

 While making preparations to leave our home of 6 years, we went through our house and took pictures and video taped it all has it was.  I couldn't do much more packing without making it look so different and I wanted to capture it as it was.  So this is our "in front of house shot".  This is the home that Rylan, Dallen and Bryleigh came home from the hospital to, and is the only home they have lived in.  It seems to strange to me, that they will not remember much about it either.  At least we have pictures!!

This boy loves checking out comic books from the library.  It made me smile when he found the comic page in the newspaper that we bought, mostly for packing.  We don't have newspaper's in our house very often. It entertained him for quite awhile!! 

swim lessons

 The kids were super excited to start swim lessons.  Dallen was in the preschool class, Rylan was in wave 1 were they basically learn the different floats, and the girls were in wave 3. They all did great, except Dallen, at first at least.  The first day Dallen would NOT get into the water.  The second day he got in the water, but would not do anything in the water.  But by day 3 he got in the water and actually participated.  I was happy.  He too was very proud of himself and he learned that it really wasn't scary.  It's the first time that he has been in the water without Kyle or I, or any of the other kids, so I can understand why it took him a couple days to warm up to it!

Rylan learned the jelly fish float, turtle float, and super man float.  They learned to swim free style a little towards the end.  And in between they dove for marbles.  I would of been happy with a little more swimming and less diving for marbles. Rylan loves being under the water, so he loved it.

My little buddy.  She got to hang with me.  At the beginning, she would mostly stay close and sit with me, but by the end of the two weeks, she was getting pretty adventurous and I would either have to chase her around or hold her.  Neither are a easy thing to do.

 The girls got to go to the deep pool and practiced their swimming skills.  They brushed up on their freestyle and back strokes, and learned how to change strokes while swimming.   

 They also got to learn how to jump off the diving board.  This was their first time and they both were pretty slow walking out on the board.  

 But afterwards they got over the nervous side, they loved it!  They started with their teacher catching them, and by the end of the two weeks, they would jump off by themselves. 

 I was so proud of them, but it still made me nervous that they were going into such deep water and I wasn't in the water with them.  Even though the life guards are much more competent to save them if there was a problem. 

 Bryleigh again.  She is starting to smile for the camera, I love it when they get to this point!

 A good view of her one tooth on top!  She kind of reminds me of a one tooth monster! Just don't tell her that!! :)

 So happy!!  So nice for me to see him smile and having fun after him screaming about it for two days.

 They got to swim across the pool.  They said they were so tired when they got to the other side.  I think it's the furthest they have swam at once.

Dallen jumping in.  His teacher dunked him under the water and he was not happy.  But the next day when they did it again, he was a little upset, but mostly ok.  He didn't cry at least!

 Rylan doing a little swimming in his class.  I would of loved to see a lot more of this!  He did a great job though, and is getting so much more comfortable in the water!

Now you don't.  I kept telling him, don't go under the water unless your teacher tells you too, you can't hear what your suppose to be doing if your under the water.  Plus after class he would complain that his eye's were burning.  A side effect from going under water and opening your eyes, a little too much!!

Swimming lessons were a success and everyone past their classes, yay!!

 We had a awesome thunder storm a few weeks back.  So of course we had to go out and play in the rain.  I love rain!!  I grew seeing rain almost every day in Washington.  I love the smell of rain, and how it seems to make everything clean. The kids were excited to get to use their umbrellas.

 Rylan had the grand idea to go down the water slide!

 Then the kids were thirsty and they wanted to try to catch rain in a cup to drink.  It was harder than they though!

 And we had to do a little dancing in the rain, while we sang the song!

p52 week 28

July 8th to 14th

 We have been going to the park for free lunch a couple times a week. The kids always look forward to going during the summer.  Bryleigh has been pretty good about staying near me, but lately she is starting to wander a bit to far. I get tired of having to chase her around!!
