Who knew...??

...you could have so much fun with noodles!!!

I guess 2 little girls! We were having chicken mozzerella for dinner (one of our favorites), and half way through dinner Bethany started taking her noodles off her plate and started to spell her name. At first I got a little bugged that she was playing with her food, but then on 2nd thought, it wasn't such a bad idea. So I told her to finish eating her dinner and then they could play with the left over noodles after dinner. What a great way to use up the extra noodles. So that is what we did. And can't you just see the excitement on their faces!! They sat at the table for probably an hour after dinner playing with their noodles. Good thing I got these little ones to remind me of the joy of childhood!!

And little Rylan got in on the fun too!!

Our Little Diva!!

I decided it was time to catch up on my blogging. We got back last week from our trip to Utah. We had a great time, I will have a marathon post for that hopefully tomorrow. But first I wanted to catch up with some posts from before our trip that I never got around to posting. Bethany got all done up the other day. Her and Hannah were playing one of their make believe games, she was probably a fairy or a princess, or who knows what else. She was so cute I had to take some pictures of her. And it got even better, she kept posing for me and was loving it! She is such a fun and silly girl!!!

It's here!!!

My rebel came on Monday. I have been having fun playing with it and figuring it out! Now I need some tips on some good lenses to get for it.
Here's some pictures for your entertainment!

Rylan taking his sister's toys and teasing them. See that big smile:)
The girls being silly. When I take their pictures they constantly ask when they get to do a silly picture. It's their favorite. These are the skirts I made for the girls for my mom's wedding. Try finding a red dress or skirt for little girls in the summer time. All you get is a lot of pastels! So I got to sew these for them.

Haircuts

The girls got some haircuts on Sunday. Hannah didn't get too much cut off, maybe 2 inches off the back. The front of her hair grew slower than the back, so I've been waiting for the front to grow long enough to be able to cut it all the same length. Finally, it got long enough. So now her hair is all the same length, it only took 3 years!!

Bethany's has some super hair! It grows like crazy! And she has developed a opinion about what I do to her hair. All she wants is a ponytail or to have her hair down. With it so long I didn't like to leave it down, because it would get so tangled, and a ponytail gets really old. So we chopped off about 4 inches. I think it's really cute, and so much easier to brush through. Give her a couple months and it will be time for another cut! They get to eat suckers while I cut their hair, it helps them sit still!

Rylan also got his hair cut, but that's a monthly occurance!

Half way there

Ky and I are half way through our training for our half marathon!! We have been going for 9 weeks, and we have 9 more weeks to go!! We are up to 8 mile runs, which is more than half of the distance! We only have to add 5 more miles. It is really exciting for me, since the longest I have ran before is 7 miles. It is so fun for me to bet my personal best. I am a little worried about the tail end of this training, so far it really hasn't been too bad. But the next 9 weeks will be a little scary, pushing myself more than I ever really have, so hopefully I make it! We have already recruited a couple people to do the race with us, but if anyone else wants to join in...it's not too late!!! Here is the link to the race, if anyone is interested:)

Our camping adventure

Last Friday night we went camping with our ward. We had a good time. It's the one time a year that we actually go camping. Not that we don't like camping, we did our fair share before we had kids. It just seems like so much work with little kids, especially since they don't sleep very well. For that reason, we had a hard time deciding if we wanted to go or not. I thought it would be just as fun to just camp in our backyard, and Bethany liked that idea. Ky and Hannah wanted to go camping in the mountains. Rylan couldn't voice his opinion, so we were torned. Ky and Hannah won! And we had fun. The girls have a little tent that they wanted to sleep in. So we took it with us and set their tent up inside of our tent. They thought it was great. I also think it kept them warmer. The couple times I poked my head in their tent, it was pretty cozy. So that worked out pretty good!

I only got a couple pictures, before my camera fell out of my pocket on the cement. Needless to say, it broke. I shouldn't of had it in my pocket to start with, but I did. We were pretty upset about it all. We have back luck with camera's, we keep breaking them. This one was only a year old. Our last camera we took into a cave and dust got into it. So all the pictures had stuff all over it, it lasted maybe 2 years. The one before that, I don't remember what happened, but it didn't last very long either. In the end though it turned into a positive...I am getting a Canon Rebel, that I have been wanting for awhile, but couldn't justify buying since we had a perfectly working camera. We were going to wait until Christmas. Well Christmas came early I guess. We ordered it online, so it should be here on Monday. Maybe going camping in the mountains wasn't so bad after all :) I am excited to play with it!! Hopefully we will have better luck with this one!!

Swim lessons wrap up

We finished up swim lessons on Friday. I think overall the girls had a lot of fun! The last day of class they had a party, where the kids just played in the water, and could go down the water slide with their teacher if they wanted. Bethany was content and happy just playing in the shallow kiddie pool. Hannah went down the water slide with her teacher, 5 times. She couldn't get enough!! Bethany never did go underwater by herself. One time her teacher took her under when they jumped in, and she cried. Then wouldn't jump in anymore the rest of the week. Hannah went under at the end of the first week, and every day since.

I tried to use that to help motivate Bethany to go under the water. Hannah did it, you can do it...Bethany told me, "well I guess Hannah is just a better swimmer than me." Pretty mature I thought. So much for the motivation. Also, one of the days I told her that if she went under she could pick something out at the store, since we had to go that day. She got all excited, "can I get a new toy"?? I told her ya. She never went under, and after class I told her that she must of not wanted to get a new toy. She says, "we have enough toys at home." Comments like this contiued all week.

Although, Bethany does have a good reason to be scared of the water. She had a near drowny experience. We were all in a hot tub, and the girls like to walk around the edges, then jump in the middle with their floaties on. Well one time Bethany didn't have her floaties on and she jumped in. We weren't paying attention, and I looked around wondering where Bethany was. I could see the tip of her hand under the water. I don't know how long she was under, and I don't know why she wasn't kicking and throwing her arms around, just sitting there as still as could be. But since then she has been a little weary of the water. She is fine with her floaties, but without them I think she is scared that it will happen again. Which I really don't blame her. So this fear of water all goes back to us, it's our fault!! We will just have to work with her.

We should of taken his swim suit, but didn't realize anyone could get in a swim. At least he got to get his legs wet.
These are out of order, these are from earlier in the week. Doing the aligator walk.

Bethany jumping in, but not going in the water:)
Hannah jumping in all the way. Way to go!
Rylan playing in the water outside.

My mommy when she was little...

Warning: Somewhat sappy post ahead.

A couple weeks ago Bethany drew this picture. It is a picture of my family when I was little. From left to right, my brother Lee, my Mom, Me, my Dad, and my sister, Amber. I was a little surprised that she was able to put this concept together, that when I was little like her, my mom and dad were married and we all lived together. We really don't talk about it very often.

So the last couple weeks, this has really been on my mind a lot. How I wish that my parents still loved eachother and were happily married. I wish that when we went to visit family that I could really go "home". I wish that they could grandparent my kids together, and have that be their focus in their lives. It still breaks my heart when I think of what could of been. But I guess sometimes that is the way life goes.

This is our last family picture taken with us all together, with the addition of my brother in law Adam. It is wierd to think that Adam knew our family this way. Ky never did. We met right after my parent's split up. I will always love this picture, and the memories.

And here are some pictures of my parents now. Even though it is not an ideal situation for me, I am glad that my parent's are happy! I love you guys so much and appreciate all you do for me and my family!!

Summer time fun!

Here's what we have been up to lately!!
We now have 2 ballerina's in our house. The teacher said it was ok for Hannah to join also, even though she isen't 4 yet. She is so excited about it! She does really well and keeps up. I'm glad they enjoy it!!

The girls also started swim lessons this week. They have it every day for 2 weeks. It is a little much to go everyday. I would like it better a couple times a week and have it spread out over the whole month. But they are enjoying it. The pool we go to have a huge kiddie pool that they do their class in. The main goal of this class is to get them more comfortable in the water. They really want the kids to learn to put their heads under the water, which is the one thing they absolutly do not want to do! So we'll see if they change their minds by the end of their class! I need to get some better pictures of them, maybe tomorrow.

When were helping were happy .... the other day I was cleaning house. The girls were picking up their room so I could vacumn. They were done and Bethany asked if she could vacumn her room. I told her sure, go for it. I didn't really expect her to be able to move the vacumn around very well. Surprisly she did really well. I think it may be one of their new chores! I like it that they are able to help out more around the house. It makes my job easier!!
When Bethany was done, Hannah wanted to try, of course! She was able to move the vacumn around pretty good too. She had to use both hands a couple times. They even put all of their big things on the bed. They are sure good helpers!!

We have also been going to the park for lunch. During the summer they have free lunches at the park. It is a lot of fun to get out of the house and the kids just love it!

Since most of this post has been about the girls, here's an update on our little guy. He is now 14 months, I still can't believe it!! He loves playing peek a boo, having his sister chase him around, play the wii, he really does. Yesterday after we turned it off, he went over got the remote, gave one to daddy, turned on the tv, and the wii was still turned on. He was SO proud of himself that he got it all ready to play again! He loves it! He also really likes dogs. When Ky's sister Sherrie came and stayed with us they brought their 2 dogs. Rylan loved looking at them through the window and petting them. The girls would not go near them, but Rylan could not get enough! Today at the park a guy brought his dog and he kept going over to them and being social! I want to take them to the zoo soon, I think he would really enjoy all the animals! Rylan still only weighs 18.5 pounds. I am having a hard time keeping his pants on him. It is a little irritating to have to roll over his pant all the time, even is 9-12 month pants fall off. Hopefully he will grow one of these days!
