Double digits!

This morning I ran my first ever double digit run!! I was able to do 10 miles, I'm still not sure how I did it, but I did!! I haven't been nervous for my runs until this morning, I woke up with butterflies. I think I put a little too much pressure on this run. I kind of made it my deal breaker run. If I could make it through the 10 miles and not struggle too much, then I figure I can make it through the race of 13 miles. If I ran my 10 miles and really struggled and had a hard time, then I figure I probably won't do too good on race day. So I made it and it really wasn't too bad! I took a pit break at 6 miles to top off my water pack, but that was it. We have 5 more weeks till race day, it's nice to see an end in sight! It was exciting for me to set a new personal best distance for myself, and that is what makes it so fun and worth it!!

Bedtime madness

Tonight while Ky was reading books to the girls, Hannah decided she needed a better seat to see the book. So she climbed up on Ky's shoulders. It was so random, we all got a little laugh out of it!

Package...

Yesterday we got a fun, unexpected package from my dad! That is one benefit of living away from family, is you get fun mail! He sent the kids some stuff from his trip to Hawaii. Next time he will have to take us with him! :) The girls got some pretty mu mu's and shell necklaces, and Rylan got a fun Hawaii outfit, and they all got some shirts. He also sent some yummy macadamia chocolates, that I like to think he sent just for me! I was really wanting some chocolate yesterday, and then it was delivered to my door step. It can't get much better than that! Thanks for thinking of us while you were on your fun trip, we love the stuff!!

Rain, Rain I love Rain...

Mr. Stinky feet (who we always have to listen to in the car now, since we saw him at the library a month ago), has a song about rain, and I agree with him. I love the rain. I grew up with the rain, and it reminds me of home in Seattle. Although the rain here in Abq is different than the rain in Seattle. First, we here only get good rain for 1-2 months out of the year, during monsoon season (July-August). In Seattle it's not unusual to see a little rain every other day or so. And here when it rains it pours, and usually only for about 20 minutes. Where in Seattle it is more of a drizzle most days, although you get your good storms too! The kids LOVE to play in the rain. My first instinct, is no you can't play in the rain. But then I think, well it is 80-90 degree's outside, why not. It's like a built in sprinkler! They put coats on so they wouldn't get too wet, and they had a blast!

We haven't had a good storm for a couple days, we are ready for it to rain again!

Kid Randomness...

I thought I would post a few things that the girls have done or said recently, that have made me giggle....

The girls like to play store and go shopping. They will gather up a bunch of toys and take turns being the shopper and teller. The part that made me laugh is they buy all their stuff with a play credit card, they just swipe away! Who needs cash these days. So different than when I was young.

I was playing with Hannah, and giving her little rides, and then I would drop her on our bean bag. She was enjoying it. When she was ready to be done, she told me, "stop doing that, I'm not a bouncy ball!" What a perspective!!

Both of the girls are really good at saying their prayers at night. Hannah has recently started telling Heavenly Father, no thank you...for things. "No thank you for bugs, No thank you for Bethany hitting me... At least she was being polite!

Also, in her prayers...she askes, "Please help mommy and daddy to grow and be healthy." We say that about her, so why not us.

Lastly...
I was trying to get a hold of my mom one day. We had been playing phone tag. On one of my messages for her, I said "I'm tired of getting your voice mail...." When I hang up Bethany asked, "why is she sending her voice in the mail?" She was very concerned!!

They sure know how to make me laugh!!

Our busy trip...

We had a great time in Utah! It was so fun to see everyone. The girls especially enjoyed being with their cousins, grandma's and grandpa's. Bethany asked me yesterday, "Next time we go up to Utah can we just take all of our stuff and move there?" If it were only that simple! I explained to her that we need to live where daddy's work is. But you know if she is asking to move there, she had a really good time. I drove up by early with the kids, so we could spend more time up there. The anticipation was worse than the actual drive. The kids did great, probably the best they have done. The worst part was stoppping for gas and having to pump my own gas (that's usually Ky's job), and then taking the kids into the bathroom. It made for slightly longer stops. But it went well.

The day after we arrived, we met up with my sister and let the kids have some fun. We went to the spray park at liberity park. It was such a cool park. I wish we would of known more about it when we did live in Utah.

Rylan didn't like the water too much at first, but he warmed up to it.Jerrod and Hannah are so cute together. They are finally getting old enough to actually play and enjoy eachother. When they were babies they weren't too fond of eachother, and I'm glad that they outgrew it. Jerrod kept calling Hannah, "my hannah", and she just loved it. Yesterday we were looking at the pictures from the trip and Hannah saw a picture of Jerrod, and she goes, "my jerrod." They are too funny.

And these two have been unseperable pretty much since Bethany could walk. I keep thinking they will outgrow being such good friends, with the age difference and being a boy and a girl. But I guess they just have a pretty cool bond going on! It's so fun to watch them.


This little boy can not help but smile. You just look at him and a smile appears magically. He is such a sweet boy.

After our fun at the park, my mom was going to get a pedicure. She wanted the girls to come along and get one too, or at least a simplified pedicure. They painted their toenails. Bethany was not sure about it at all, so like usual Hannah had to go first. Good thing is isen't so shy or we would never get anywhere. Then Bethany tolerated it when it was her turn. Look at her face, she didn't seem to be enjoying it at all, but had to tell everyone about it the rest of the week!

And their pretty toenails. It's kind of sad that my girls have had a "pedicure" before their mommy. But I REALLY don't like my feet messed with, so it will probably stay that way!

On Wednesday we met up with Ky's sister's. I had a nice visit with them while the girls loved playing with their "girl cousins," is what they call them. Rylan was kind of a handful, so I didn't get to take as many pictures as I would of liked. (Thanks Trudy for coordinating it!)That night we were able to go visit with Ky's mom and we had a nice visit with her. The girls really enjoyed getting all of her toys out!

On Thursday night we had a bbq for the 4th of July with my family. My grandma and grandpa were visiting from Utah, so we got to see them too, which was really nice. It was my grandma's birthday, so we did a little party for her as well.

They all had to roll down the hill, over and over and over! Rylan couldn't quite get the rolling down, so he would run down. He only fell a couple of times!

Rylan had so much fun going down the slide with my Grandma. I think they spent half of the time doing that. My grandma is such a sport, after a couple times I think I would of been done!

Ky flew in to Utah Friday morning. We were all so happy to see him! On my way to pick him up, I was stopped at a stoplight. When it was my turn to go, I pushed on the gas and the car died. I started to freak out, mostly because I was half way out in the intersection with cars behind me and feeling hopeless. I had to signal for people to go around me and getting several honks. Hello I can't go anywhere! After sitting through 2 stoplights, the guy behind me came up and asked if I wanted him to push me into the gas station. So he recruited another person and together they got me out of the road, which was a HUGE relief! I was only a mile from my mom's so they came down and lended us one of their cars to use. So I make it to the airport, but was about a half hour late. Ky was starting to get worried, but since we only have one cell phone and I had it, there was no way to get a hold of him.

We went up to the Kaysville parade. We were suppose to meet up with Ky's family, but we ended up on the opposite end of the parade, so that was kind of a bummer, but it was still fun. We went to his sister's house after the parade for a bbq and got to visit and the kids played. We really enjoyed our time with them. After we had to go back to our van and deal with it not working which was no fun at all. We had to tow it back to my mom's house. We couldn't get it into the shop because of the holiday, and they were closed Saturday and Sunday also. So monday morning we called to try to get it in. The first placed we called couldn't get us in until Friday, with wanting to leave Tuesday that didn't work. The next place we called they couldn't get us in till the following Monday. We explained our situation and still wouldn't work us in. We were getting so frustrated. We then called a place up in Kaysville and they could get us in Tuesday morning. It ended up that our fuel pump had gone out, so we got that replaced. At least it broke down a mile from my mom's house and not in the middle of no where. I was worried about breaking down on my solo trip up. So count our blessings, it could of been worse.

Saturday was my mom's wedding. We spent most of the day getting ready for that. This was one of my favorite picture's with us girls. (For more pictures see below post.)


A picture with all of kids and grandkids with my grandma and grandpa. I'm so glad that they stuck around Utah till we came. We really enjoyed visiting with them!

We meet up with Ky's dad and Jo at Wheeler Farm. I had never been there, so it was fun.

We got some duck food so the girls could feed the ducks. They were really excited to do it, until they all came charging towards the brown paper bag. There were tons of duck and geese everywhere. It even scared me a little!

One of them nipped at Bethany's toe. She was fine, just mostly scared.

Hannah was in the stroller and deathly afraid of the ducks...but I don't blame her!

They had a little tree house to play in, and they could climb all over the tree it was in. They had fun, and I had fun taking pictures, of course!

Then they found some feathers, that they thought were the best! They carried them around the rest of the time and took them with us. We had gone to lunch afterwards and they got drinks with straws. After lunch in the car, they started sticking the feathers in their straws. That was the end of their feathers and their drinks!

After the farm we went and visited with Ky's mom some more. We didn't get to see her as much as we wanted because of our stupid van. That was kind of a bummer, we enjoy being with her.

And then to end our long day, we met up with some old friends, Mike and Lindsay. Mike and Ky went to highschool together and played football together. Our first apartment after we were married was a block from their apartment...so they reunited at church. It was so much fun leaving so close to them. We used to do Family Home Evening with them, back in the day. It was fun to catch up with them, and see their new house that their having built.

And we ended our trip with Garry's baptism Tuesday night. We are so excited for him!

I told you this was going to be a long post!! We were super busy and did so many fun things on our trip! Hope I didn't bore you too much. It was so nice to get home though, to our own beds, and to get these kiddos on a schedule again, especially the naps for Rylan!!

My mom's wedding day!

My mom has gotten some requests for wedding pictures, and since they are all on my camera (thanks again Jason, who was the photographer!) I thought I would post some on here for those who are anxiously awaiting some pictures. The wedding was really nice and we all had a lot of fun with it. Especially my girls, who got to be flowers girls! They were so excited!! Congratulations again guys!!
