Bethany's softball team played in the Layton City league, at Elison Park. They had double hitters on Monday's, so we were there for a long time! They also have a spray park there. So while Bethany played, the other kids got to play in the water. It helped that they had something else to do!
The water was super cold, so even when it was around 100 degrees out, the little ones would be shivering and cold.
Bethany playing 2nd base, her favorite!
Rylan's baseball season continued through June. He really enjoyed it! He tried out 2nd base too, and did pretty good!
Bethany batting, she's gotten pretty good!
Her team, in addition to their Layton league on Mondays, they also played in 3 tournaments in June.
They played in a tournament in Cottonwood in Salt Lake City, a tournament in Roy, and the last one for the month in Brigham City. They were usually Friday and Saturday and some they also played on Thursday too, It felt like softball kind of took over our summer, The other kids got so tired of softball game, and I don't blame them. It's fun to watch Bethany play, and see her improvement!
We got dinner in between her games in Brigham City, and firehouse pizza. One of our favorite places!
The hard thing about the tournaments were you really couldn't plan our days. The two pool games were scheduled, but once you get into bracket play, it all depends on if you win or lose. So you don't know how many games they will play, or what time we would be done. Fun!
Playing second again. She usually played right field for nitro. The coaches daughter played second base also, so she got to play there the most. Bethany loved when she got to play second, and is really good at it! She knows where to go on each play, and does a good job knocking down the ball. She is also really good at right field. She is great at backing up and knocking the balls down out there too. She would even get the center fielders balls sometimes!
The kids warming up after playing at the water park!
Bethany running bases!
It was a busy month, but I am so glad that the kids are getting these experiences and learning how to play these different sports! It's fun to see them develop their talents!
