nativity

I took the kids up to the temple to see the nativity they have there. It was fun to see how excited they all were when they realized that we were going to see the temple.

Afterwards the girls wanted to walk around the rest of the temple, and Rylan wanted to go back to the car because he was scared. Not sure how you can be scared on the temple grounds, but that is Ry. He also told us on our walk that when he grows up he is going to have blue hair. Not sure where that came from, but here's to hoping that doesn't happen!

The girls had lot of fun questions while we walked around, like why is everything white, and how old do you have to be to go to the temple. I love that they are curious and want to know these things. The next day I was playing a game with the girls and Bethany wanted us to guess her favorite number, it was 12. I asked her why it was 12 and she said, "Because that is when I get to go to the temple and it's in 5 years!" That made me happy! It will be so awesome to take my kids there...I can't wait!!

my boys

At Ky's work party the had a couple jars of candy that you had to guess the number of candies in the jar. All the kids made a guess, and Rylan actually won one of them! He guessed that there were 4 Hershey kisses in the jar, and I wrote down 75. Well 75 was the right number. We work well as a team! He really enjoyed having a jar of candy that was his and has done so well sharing with everyone!

Rylan loves to wear his hat and slippers. He started wearing them a couple months ago, and if we are home he has them on. He puts them on before he comes out of his room in the morning. As soon as we get home he will disappear to his room to go get them on. His favorite slippers on the blue ones. I just bought him the brown ones since the blue ones are a couple sizes too small. He decided that he didn't like the new ones so he wouldn't wear them. Until he lost one of his blue ones, then he decided he would wear one of the brown ones. I am surprised that he didn't throw a fit about losing the one, but he fixed the problem all by himself.

Some days Dallen's naps will last until dinner time, so when it is time to put the other kids to bed, I feel bad putting him back to bed already. Plus he isn't really tired yet. So he gets to stay up later than the other kids, and he really enjoys it!! He will get up on the big bean bag in our room and ask to watch a show.

He also really enjoys making silly faces for the camera. If I have the camera out, he will come over and stand in front of it and start making his faces. He cracks me up!

His hair is super crazy and needs to be cut again so badly...but I really don't want to do it. Maybe next week.

Ky's birthday

Ky got a nice easy going birthday this year. It was on a Sunday so there wasn't much to go do. He got to go home teaching (yay!) and we had a dinner he picked out and I actually made. He cooks most dinners around here right now, so he enjoyed having a break from that. He got to open his presents and spent the rest of the day playing with his new toy.

Dallen has learned what presents are and loves them. He helped daddy open his up!

Ky chose to have a pie instead of cake, which made it even easier for me! So we had razzleberry pie with ice cream. Happy Birthday!!

Christmas pictures

It is always interesting to try to get all the kids in a picture and looking at the camera. I love how the kids outfits turned out this year. I wasn't even looking for outfits yet, I was still trying to decide if I was going to do them or not. And of course that is when I found them, and they were all on clearance, they must of been from last year. Anyways, so it was meant to be I suppose!
These pictures pretty much sum up Rylan's personality perfectly. He can be such a goofball sometimes. And Dallen was so done in this picture, he wanted his sisters to let go of him so he could get down. At least I can count on the girls to look and smile at the camera. The joys of them getting older!

my girls

Last week me and the girls went to go see the nutcracker. We go every year and I so look forward to spending that time with them. Especially now that they are old enough that it is just so fun to be with them and not so much work anymore. I also love that they love the ballet even more than I do, and enjoy it so much!
The last day of school before the break the girls had a art and poetry night at their school. The last month they have been working on fun art projects and writing poetry. Everything is up and displayed and you get to walk around the classrooms to see what they have done. It is a lot of fun and the girls love showing us what they have done. Before that Bethany's class had a poetry slam, where she got up and read two of her poems to her class and their families. She was a little nervous, but did a great job! She makes me smile!

And this girls makes me smile too. She was cleaning up the toys and decided to dress up the screwdriver and wanted me to take a picture of it before she put it away. Also she is still trying to figure out a name for our baby. She said that we should start writing down the ideas, so she now has a list of names that she can add to whenever she wants. She is just too cute sometimes!

snow

Last week we finally got some fun snow to play in. We got enought to make snow angels and build a snowman and we still had some left over. The kids were soooo excited to go play in it, but didn't last too long, since the snow is also so cold.

Dallen wasn't so sure of it at first.

The kids built their snowman all by themselves. I really don't enough playing in the snow all that much and getting wet and cold.

They also enjoyed throwing snowballs at eachother.

He soon discovered that it tasted pretty good, but that it was cold.

Bethany was the only one left outside when I remembered to take a picture of the snowman all completed. The best thing about snow here, is it is gone by the next day. And the best thing about building a snowman is you get it have a clump of snow in the yard for a few extra days.

Grandma's visit

A few weeks ago Ky's mom came to visit. We all enjoyed her company and had a good time.

We took the scenic drive up to Santa Fe. The girls were sick but we all needed to get out of the house, so we thought a nice drive would be nice. We took a quick walk around the town and headed back home the quick way!

We wanted to do the lights at the gardens, but again didn't want to take the girls out at night in the cold, so we went during the day. Rylan walked the whole time while the girls took turns in the stroller.

Dallen threw one of his tantrums when it was time to leave the trains. He sure is growing up!
Monday after we dropped the girls off at school we went to the zoo and out to lunch before dropping Grandma off at the airport. This is Rylan growling like a tiger.

Science project round 2

Bethany got to do her science presentation the Monday before Thanksgiving. Her project was also on Forces and Motion. We got the girls the same topic to make life simplier for us. She was pretty nervous and didn't want to do it, but she did a great job! It's so fun to see her get up in front of her peers and come out of her little shell.
