girls camp 2017

The girls were excited to go to girls camp. I was a little sad, since they were going to be gone all week. That's a long time without my girls. But I was so happy that they were going together, and I knew they would help take care of each other!

Little did I know, that I would be making a little stop at girls camp too! I had just finished grocery shopping, and went to put the groceries in the back of the van, and there is Bethany's bag. I was so shocked that it was still sitting in the back of the van. She never grabbed it when we were unloading at the church that morning. Luckily, I had a map to the campsite they were at. Bethany had a softball tournament that weekend, so I was going to have to pick her up Thursday night. If I didn't have that map already, it would of been so much harder! I got home,and was trying to figure out how to make it all work. Rylan had a 5:00 baseball game, and I knew I wouldn't be home in time. So I turned on a movie for the kids, and Ky came home shortly after to watch them. I drove all the way up to Logan and up another canyon to their camp. I got lost a few times, and it kind of freaked me out, because it wouldn't pull up on my google maps. I was just going off what the paper said, and it didn't tell me when or where to turn. When I was about there, I had a member of the stake calling me to tell me about Bethany's bag. I was too far up the canyon that I didn't have reception, and we kept loosing our connection. We I finally made it, I saw him in the middle of the field trying to make calls. Apparently its the only spot that gets a little bit of reception. 

So I finally found the girls, and got Bethany's bag to her. It was fun to see where they were spending their week and their tents. It was also nice to check in with them and make sure they were ok with their tent buddies. Then I turned around and made the drive home. 

It was beautiful up there! So pretty!

baseball all star try outs

Rylan and Dallen both decided to try out for the all star teams for their age. I was proud of them for trying something new and out of their comfort zones.

Little Dallen did awesome! He performed so good. Some of the parents sitting by me, that didn't know he was my son, were commenting and surprised at how well and hard he hit the ball, because he is so little! He also did well with the fielding. Unfortunately he didn't end up making one of the teams. There were two. It was a little frustrating, because at least one of the coaches was recruiting all the boys from his normal team for his all star team. While he was suppose to be watching the kids try out, he was on the phone calling the boys he wanted to come out. There were other times that the coaches were talking to each other and not even waiting the boys. So I feel like he didn't get a fair shot at a team. I felt like why were they even trying out if they already had their teams picked. Dallen is little, but is a solid player and he is a lefty! Really it's a no brainer! Oh well, it's their lost! 

Rylan also did a good job. He didn't perform his best, I think he was a little nervous. But he did good enough to earn himself a spot on one of the 4 all star teams for his age. His old football coach was one of the coaches for his team. I think that helped him a little, that the coaches knew him. He did great, and had fun playing some more baseball!

I forgot to post Rylan's baseball post from May. 

He had a fun year playing baseball. His team was ok. He was one of their pitchers, and also enjoyed playing 1st base. He is getting better and better. 

His team did ok. They won some and lost some, but they had fun!

We missed Rylan's picture day too. Him and Dallen we forgot about them. So we got some pictures on our own. 

He got to have grandpa come watch one of his games. Bethany was in a pleasant mood!!

last day and going home

Our last day we had a hard time deciding what to do. We had an evening flight, so we had most of the day. We had already done everything that we had planned to do. We decided to go check out Harvard. 

We still had a little bit of time after that, so we went to this little island thing that was by the airport. It has a walking path around the island. It was a little weird, but it kept us busy. 

Then we headed to the airport. This was in the airport. It was a great trip! It's always good to get some time away from the kids and be able to reconnect with each other. The plane ride home was pretty hard. We didn't realize until we got to the airport, that are seats were not by each other. Since he has to buy his through his work, and then we bought my tickets, we made a mistake. On the way to Boston, Ky had the window seat and I had the middle seat. My thinking was I would get that out of the way, so on the way home I can be comfy by the window and not by a stranger. But instead, I got stuck in the window seat, with two strangers. It was really hard, and I felt like I was on the verge of a panic attack. I don't do well when plans change, and this one was especially hard. It was a long flight, and I hadn't prepared myself for the situation. Luckily, I was able to watch a movie and it helped the time pass, and I survived! We will have to be more careful next time to get seats by each other!

concord and portland maine

While Ky was at work again, I ventured out a little further and went to concord. It was the cutest little town. I loved all the old houses!

It was fun to walk around and see the old historic buildings. 

I visited the house of the little women. It is where the family grew up.

When Ky got off work, we drove up to portland maine. It was a fun little drive. We were a little under impressed by portland though. We found a cute little place to eat on the water. But overall we felt like the town was a little run down, and there wasn't much to do.
