softball

Bethany's softball team continued to play throughout the fall. The sport that never ends, seriously! 

She has been enjoying her new team that she is playing on. Her playing skills have improved so much! I think mostly because she has gotten so much good playing time. She is her team's starting shortstop. It has been a big learning curve for her, since it is a new position. But she has learned and improved so much! She also get's to play 2nd base a little, and outfield too. 

In the fall they played a tournament in Tremonton, Heber City, and Saint George. They also played in the Brigham City League. We all made it to the Tremonton tournament. We had conflicts with the other two tournaments so Ky and Bethany just went and me and the other kids stayed home. 

The tournament in Heber City, they took 2nd place in the loser's bracket. That was their first game that they had won as a new team. It was pretty exciting for them!

They have a good team, and are usually pretty competitive with other teams. But her coach likes to switch things up too much, and then they end up losing pretty bad. We wish he would keep the players in their best positions so they could have more chances to win some games!

The tournament that they came in 2nd, they got some prizes. One of them was $30 for a party. They went and got ice cream as a team. 

football

Rylan decided he was ready to try some new sports this year, instead of playing soccer. He played flag football in the fall. He really enjoyed it! He was nervous at first, because he had never played before. It's hard to start a new sport and there is a big learning curve. He was really intimidated when his coach gave him a packet of plays they would be using in the game. Luckily his dad played a lot of football, and was able to help Rylan figure out what they meant.

He catch onto the game really fast, and really enjoyed himself. 

He had a great coach, who taught him so much! He also had a great team and ended up being undefeated! They also won the league championship. They each got a $10 gift card to Dick's. 

The night he had pictures, we had a big rain storm. We were there early for pictures, and right before his game was suppose to start it started pouring rain. The sky looked amazing though!

His coach was so fun, and sprayed the boys hair blue before the games. He also would put the black under their eyes. He would call it getting their hair and make up done. Hopefully we have as good as an experience next year! He really loved it!

soccer

Dallen is the only one playing soccer this year. It makes Saturday's a little easier only having one. Last year him and Rylan both played, the year before that the boys and Bethany were playing. Three soccer games on Saturday's was too much! 

Dal is a fast, aggressive player! He is not scared to get in there and get the ball. It probably helps that he is used to playing with Rylan, who is bigger than him. But he is not scared to go up against bigger kids.

Scoring a goal. He usually made a goal almost every game. There were a few games that he just wasn't into, and didn't do as well. But usually he had a least one goal.

It's fun to watch Dallen play, but I'm usually not sad when the season is over. It means one less thing to run kids around to!

cross country

Hannah did cross country again this year. She was a little hesitate, since she decided that she does not like to do track. But cross country is different and I think she ended up enjoying herself. She had her friend's Abbie and Natalie that also did cross country this year. She enjoyed getting to spend some extra time with them. Although, when they were actually running, she would go faster than them. But she got to start with them, and hang out with them during other parts. 

She was nervous for the grand finale, the 5k race. She wanted Ky to run with her, but because he hadn't been training, she could out run him. So they started together, but very quickly Hannah left him in the dust! I'm glad she felt comfortable going ahead by herself.

She took 2nd place for her age group. Last year she took 3rd. We were so proud of her, and for finishing strong! She was pretty happy too. She didn't mind adding another metal to her collection!

 Her results. Here it show's she came in 3rd. But the 1st place girl, actually ran the 3k not the 5k. Which bumped Hannah up to 2nd. 

They have fun activities around after the race, and some yummy treats. It was a fun morning!

We had fun celebrating my mom's birthday. The kids giving her all of their cards that they made her!

Bryleigh said something funny, not sure what! She's always full of surprises.

She requested a homemade carrot cake, like what Grandma Gribbin used to make, With nuts and pineapple. I don't remember Grandma's carrot cake, but found a recipe that sounds similar. It was a success!

Happy birthday mom! We are so glad you are a part of our family! We sure love you!
