pumpkin patch

We had fun going to the pumpkin patch and getting our pumpkins. We get to take a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch, and then find our perfect pumpkins!

Bethany's eyes are closed, but it was the only picture with her and her pumpkin!
We went after Rylan's soccer game. It was the soccer game that I sprained my ankle. I toughed it out, I didn't want to disappoint the kids. So I wobbled around. When we got out to the pumpkin patch I stood in the line for the hayride back while everyone found their pumpkins.

October 2015

Rylan and his never ending bean plant. He wanted a picture of it before our trip, in case it didn't make it while we were gone. It of course survived. Rylan has the green thumbs in our family! He can grow anything!
My fortune! I was going through some changes that were really hard for me. This is easier said, than done!
Hannah's class fall bulletin board! She loves helping me with these projects!
At one of Rylan's soccer games I stepped in a big pot hole with flip flops on and sprained my ankle. It hurt a lot and took a couple week until I could walk on it normally. And a few more weeks for it to not hurt too much. It still bothers me and will can be sore if I step on it wrong.
Bryleigh found her new buddy!

Halloween {california style}

We were really excited to spend Halloween in California this year! We debated whether to leave for our trip before or after Halloween. We originally were going to wait and leave Sunday so we could do Halloween at home. The kids had the Friday before Halloween off from school, so decided to take advantage of it and left Friday. We had fun swimming at the hotel that morning. Then we got ready and to downtown disney. We had heard that they do trick or treating at the stores, but were a little disappointed. A couple of stores did, but the majority did not. we still had fun walking around and doing some window shopping!
We especially loved the lego store! They can make some amazing things with legos!

After downtown disney we found a cafe rio and got some dinner. We were still trying to decide what to do that night. The girls wanted to go trick or treating around some neighborhoods. I wasn't too thrilled about doing that. We found a halloween thing going on at Huntington beach, so we headed out there.

We made a good choice! We had a hard time finding parking, since it is all street parking. So we ended up parking a ways away from the festivities, but had fun walking through the awesome houses on the way. There is a little downtown district right by the beach. All of the stores were handing out candy. So we trick or treated around to the different stores.
We went and walked out onto the pier and had fun watching the waves. It was neat to experience Halloween somewhere different. I think the kids will always remember that halloween at the beach!
On our walk back to our car, we stopped at a few houses and did a little more trick or treating. The people were so friendly and nice. It was a fun night!

cub scouts

The boy is the cutest cub scout ever! He was able to earn his bobcat badge, we are so proud of him!

At pack meeting they had a carnival. The kids had fun playing the different games!
Rylan is loving cubscouts and all the fun creative boy things they do!

preschool halloween parade

Bryleigh's preschool had a halloween parade for the parents. Bryleigh was so cute!
She was a little shy walking in, she was the leader of the parade.
They also sang us some Halloween songs.

Her preschool friends and teacher. She had so much fun!

my birthday

My mom put on a super fun birthday party for me! She had fun planning it and surprising me with it. It was very sweet and thoughtful of her!
She had a few games planned. This one was "Who said that?" She had fall pictures hanging up on the wall {since fall is my favorite season} and on the back it said something nice about me from a person. There were pictures of the people she contacted and we had to decide who said what. It was very nice to hear all the nice things people had to say!
We had some purple and orange decorations! {my favorite colors}
Of course presents. Dallen was upset about something, I don't remember what!
Dallen's cute grumpy face!

We had brownie sundae's for dessert. I'm not a big cake fan!
It was a wonderful party with wonderful company!

halloween costumes

The kids halloween costumes this year! The girls have the wizard of oz theme going, and the boys are ninja turtles. I tried to convince the boys to be the scarecrow and tin man, but they wanted to be ninja turtles. I had fun making and altering the girls costumes. I enjoy being creative for a month out of the year! It is fun to see their reactions and excited as I finish up their costumes. It was easier for me that I didn't have to worry about the boys costumes too!
Our little Dorothy! She was excited to be dorothy and was the first to decided that that was what she wanted to be for Halloween, and started the wizard of oz theme for the girls.
She was excited to use her pink doggie for toto and she loved her new red shoes!
I wanted her costume to be like dorothy's dress, but different too.

Of course Hannah had to be the good witch, because she has a pink dress! I found this dress for her and then altered it to fit her better. I also added the pleats to help give it a fuller look. We added the puffy sleeves, and the wand and crown. She was set to go!

Bethany was excited to be the wicked witch of the west! I found her dress, lace shirt and black jacket. They all fit her pretty good. I just added the pleats in her dress, to give it some character and to shorten the dress. She loved how it turned out. We found her some black witch shoes and made her broom stick. The broom stick may be a new halloween decoration for me next year!

The wizard of oz girls!

Our ninja turtles to save the day! They were pretty cute too! All I had to do for their costumes was stuff their turtle shells, and got them their weapons. Rylan had a staff and Dallen numb chucks. They were happy boys!

We had our ward trunk or treat. Bethany and Hannah wanted curly hair and we painted Bethany's face green. We were in California for actual Halloween and decided it was too much work and a mess to paint her face again. So she just got her green face once!
